Gridcoin net weight has risen, a lot

The netweight shows the participating/staking Gridcoin clients: 

  • the higher the net weight the better for Gridcoin (e.g. security wise, ...)


And today (August 7), it seems to be rising high:



Normally it was like 70-100 million recently.

    I'd imagine that a significant proportion of the rise in net weight is investors taking their wallets out of storage to make their voices heard in the poll.

    They are also probably returning their wallets to active staking, with the crypto marketcap making for the moon and all.

      • 310 million net weight at block 996326
      • 301.1 million net weight at block 996325 (996320 had 259.46 mio)

      the highest difficulty at around this time was at:

      • block 996322 with 164.36 (net weight 256.7 million)
