Gridcoin Stake Calculator FIXED!!

in #gridcoin6 years ago

Hey, sorry everyone. I didn't realize how broken my calculator was. I got that all squared away with the help of some people in the Gridcoin Discord chat. Thanks!

Here's the link to the google doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UD-tB3uaq3gj2sxK7fVYvxhtiatbOdaan-vGM07WA9E/edit?usp=sharing

FIXES

I added that link to the page for easier access to the math behind it all while using the calculator. Let me know in a comment what you think or how it works.

If you calculate what I think, more precise than

Probability to stake per Week

would be

Probability to stake at least once within a week

and

instead

Time to stake a block

it would be better

Average time to stake a block

Thanks for the tips!

Changed to Average time to stake a block

Changed the probability portion to also reflect "at least once per [timeframe]", and changed formatting. It looks like the formula used is tailored specifically to probability, so it cannot go above 1. I'd like to have it do so to give a better idea of how well you can stake in a particular timeframe. Once I figure out how to change it to allow percentages higher than 100, I'll set it that way and remove the "at least once" portion.

Also added chance to stake once during the 186-day staking period for those who want to see if they have enough to leave pool research.

I just read your tag line.

Android App Developer

You want followers? Keep talking about Android App Development as a topic. Comment on other people's blogs that talk about phones, games, or android. Mention it in passing that you develop Android apps..

Show screenshots... maybe some code.

It doesn't matter if you aren't the author of Candy Crush, lol. Anyone that even knows how to develop "anything" on android peaks interest.

Talk about what you've learned. What you want to learn. How easy or hard it is... What you've done, or what you plan on doing.

It's a fantastic topic and those of us that have never known an android app developer personally get memorized by that type of discussion. It's just getting star struck in a simple way.

It's like meeting someone who is an actor.

...then you find out "well, you know that foot commercial? Well it was my feet in it". You should have heard how long it took for the makeup artist to powder my feet. It doesn't matter what scale of developer or actor someone is... it is STILL very interesting.

Wow @alanman you constantly surprise me.

Well @intelliguy it just so happens I took your advice and started working on another app idea. You can check it out here: https://steemit.com/programming/@alanman/new-app-project-poplaser
