Old Men's Wisdom - Greek Steemians Advise
Hello to everyone! This series was an idea born in the head of @ruth-girl after getting more involved in the Greek community of Steemit. We thought it would be of great help to offer all those newbies some advice by the older members of the community.
So, what is this post and the next on this series about? Nothing more than some "personal wisdom" gained by the members of the platform that, just like you, were once a noob and had no idea how this thing works, what all those terms are, what the hell they were supposed to do and what should they avoid.
For the first part of "Old Men's Wisdom" we got @rouketas and @skapaneas, the founders of the @greek-trail.
@rouketas' wise words are:
So you decide to become the next super star Steemian here is my recipe:
First of all, start blogging about something you like very much or even better something you can talk for days with your friends, don't try to copy someone else because this is the recipe for disaster, and you MUST be original.
Second, become the best specialist on your subject, surpass yourself, beat the competition, stand up from the crowd.
Third and most important, be interactive with the community, don't consume your time with 'quick' comments, instead read & reply accordingly, avoid comments like "good article", or out of the topic replies. You must spend hours on the platform to become rewarding but you must have patience & dedication till you find your audience.
I never had the "blogging" stuff in me, but these three tactics helped me a lot.
Steem On
@skapaneas' wise words are:
Steemit is a place that you can get involved into microcommunies and support eachother. You can get rewarded for helping people with any way imaginable. I have numerous examples as such, that though would need to be in a post of its own.
Get involved.
Get motivated to evolve the steemit ecosystem with us.
Share your ideas and display your expertise.
There is a place for all!
Bonus old man's saying, @trumpman:
The salmon and the lizard arrive home in 3 days.
Dude, what is that supposed to mean?
We hope that many of you will find this series useful. We intend to post it on a weekly basis. Don't forget to support your fellow community members and create unique content on the platform. We are waiting to see you again soon!

Hey Dudes, what is
Great post, it is a nice idea; The new steemians keep the wise words in mind the older members will be reminded of them, just in case :)
Upoved, resteemed (but running out of voting power, so I will rest for a while!!)
Ham and eggs—a day's work for a chicken; a lifetime commitment for a pig.
hi guys..it was very understandable your advises :)
Followed! Happy Holidays! I'm Greek Too...
that's some nice wisdom you shared.. personally I help others with small upvotes..for now my plan is to get my name appear in various lists like the person with the most number upvotes in a week or in the report such as the list of people who upvoted the most number of unique accounts.. I think it's about making others talk positive things about me again and again even when I'm asleep... well that's my present plan of action.. and thanks for this wonderful wisdom sharing series.. I look forward to your next post
And by commenting on people's posts without upvoting even at a small % like you did here...
I see, that's a good course of action. Keep it up
oh nah.. I do the small upvoting at day 6.. so that I can get the curation fast..
but you seem like the type with little patience so duh.. there you go.. now I have to wait a week.. tsk
And of course you would upvote and then take the votes back...dude, that's lame
for now my plan on steemit is to flag impatient people.
go ahead do whatever you want with your SP..
