Why was part of this Mural in Moscow wiped clean?
When I found this mural in the Bol'shaya Bronnaya Street, in Moscow, I was pretty impressed. This is a huge piece and can be seen from a distance.
The letters in the drawing seem to indicate this is a dedication to the old USSR, a celebration of their victories.
Inside the circle there are the initials of the USSR, in Cyrillic: СССР. (Союз Советских Социалистических Республик / Union of Soviet Socialist Republics).
Below it says Победа or Victory.
Гордимся! means We Are Proud!
As you can see from this screenshot taken from Google Maps, some parts of the drawing were painted over.
The erased message was:
Московский Ювелирный Завод (Moscow Jewellery Factory)
Партнер Программы "Наша Победа" (Partner of "Our Victory" Programme)
арт фасад (art facade)
I wonder why this bit of the mural was wiped off...? Maybe my friend @apnigrich knows something about it... or any of you? For now, it remains a mystery to me.

Most likely someone from officials considered an inscription about sponsorship sacrilege and ordered to erase an inscription.
For this even can be prosecuted, considered an insult to history.
Or simply to administrative punishment, to impose a fine.
Graffiti in Russia is not free. You need to get permission to draw it, and the city Administration can specify the subject. It is usually associated with patriotism.
