Genesis Modification / Glitch Essay For 2015 Mural Festival
About his creation processus :
This is my first experiment by modifying the basic code of my digital sketches. Before arriving at Montreal and start my work on this mural, I made a composition based on my aesthetic line regarding functionality of space and environment. After learning about the history of the people who live there, I could not keep my idea excluding any information in my work on this.
The artwork is in the Foundation Sidalys (Secours AIDS Centre) which has the function to receive homeless patients with HIV. Nonprofit, without religious profile, supported by donations and government support. Currently are living Christine, Eric, Sebastien Denis, Alain and Rejean, all people with this characteristics. I put all these names in the code of the digital image and the result obtained randomly was the final sketch. I find it interesting lose the total control over my work and let external factors influence without necessarily being protagonists, is a good way to portray the environment within abstraction. It also seems essential to the relationship between work and virtual analog / digital space, as they can work together to achieve both worlds portray worlds in which we live. - (source)
It's very interesting to see how the artist did this mural, all the processus... Elian is very aware about the environnment where he painted his mural and integrated elements in it. Great...
