What we can not live without.

Every day I wake up, and truly I give thanks for what I have, I may not be where I honestly want to be, but I am grateful to have the basics that every person in this country deserves. After I get that first cup of hot coffee and say good morning to my lovable furry family, I sit and just think...
this morning my thoughts were... How is it we have sunk so low, how is it the unacceptable has become acceptable in this country? So much wrongness and so much pain everywhere? How can we find the joy and peace in this country, and spread it through out humanity..in a world that is lacking so much?.
I began to consider the things we CAN NOT live without any longer, simple but important things that could make us whole again.
The first thing that came to mind was Justice, we can not live with out fair and equal justice in the country, and we have for so long... our justice system seems to have evolved into a ( excuse the analogy) pay to play system... if you have enough money you can play the odds, be dishonest and disreputable and win, you can lie cheat and steal anything you want, put others in danger and never be held accountable. This seems to be especially true if you work in government... Notice I did not say for government,because working FOR government requires integrity, I see little of that.
The second thing we can not live with out is TRUTH in journalism, over the past several years and more importantly the last several months we have seen a level of dishonesty in our system of journalism that has been unprecedented. There is never the whole truth, there is however much speculation, half truths , excuses, and flat out lies. With out truth and integrity in journalism, we have become a society that is confused, angry and just plain tired of having to search and search for the one piece of information that will lead us in the right direction, to that place where ALL humanity is safe and free of the devastation that lies can create.
Third we can not live with government intent on ignoring the very basic principals of humanity. There is no humanity in taking away basic rights, in the name of profits, there is no humanity in profits that destroy human life, or this planet, and there is NO government in a group of individual that wish to control RATHER than govern, insuring the rights and safety of those it governs.
Fourth: we can not live with out morals, integrity and compassion, and after all that we have allowed with out morals, integrity and compassion can we change a society that is more concerned with the latest dodad to ease that emptiness we feel rather than coming together and just being kind and considerate to one another. It is ONLY through care, concern and love that we will evolve into a society that hold Truth, Justice and a way of life, governed by those whose expectations are ethically correct, can we call ourselves enlightened being.
My final conclusion is that we CAN NOT live with out each other. We can not continue to hate, berate, and destroy one another, There is no justice in lies, there is no integrity in assumptions,and there is no peace with out morals and understanding.
