GOOD NEWS! The bees population is growing again! Find out how and why you should care.
Honeybees are among the most important living creatures on Earth, as the main enablers of the pollination. We need them to grow 84% of our crops and a vast majority of our fruits and nuts. Bees and other pollinators are at the base of a fragile ecosystem and their survival is of first importance.
It's been over two decades that the rapid diminution of the pollinators alarms environmental groups. Up to 90% of the world bees and other monarch butterflies would have perished for various reasons during that time. Mites infestations, stress due to pesticides, varroa disease or the mysterious Colony Collapse "disease". The Colony Collapse sees the entire colony leaving the hive for no apparent reason and has been on the rise during these two decades.
Finally, I am coming to the good news, the honeybees population rose 3%, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture survey this August. More importantly the number of inexplicable Colony Collapses went down 27% in the meantime. To obtain these results, beekeepers have been reporting working harder on keeping their bees well fed, checking more often for mites and communicating with local farmers to avoid strong pesticides as much as possible.
Once again, there is still much to do, but understanding the problem and making the first step in the right direction is the beginning of every solution.
I found some tips about how to have a bee-friendly garden here.

Thank you to the Bees and all the lovely Honey they make as well! yum yum
Yes, bees matter! I hope people can understand that =)
My father was engaged in bees and I'm a little bit. But they are very difficult to look after. Constantly you need to control the whole process. I really admire their ability to work. And you quite correctly wrote that it is necessary to protect them. Thank you.
Good luck to you and your father then, it is hard but you contribute to make the world a better place
Thanks for the support.
And I helped one woman in the garden, and I saw that there was a beehive in the neighbor in the neighbor.
You'll have to wait your turn, sir.
All praise is for the creator who has created these bees.
Sometimes we praise the creation so much that we forget about the creator who has fashioned his creation in such a beautiful manner.
Honeybees are nice. Your post is also very nice. Awaiting for your post again.
Thank you! Stay tuned for some more =)
