GOOD NEWS! Extreme poverty is dropping significantly!
Despite everything you will hear on the news, the world is becoming a better place.
Extreme poverty is one of the most urgent matter on the planet and together with the rapid growth of the worldwide population, could have horrible consequences. A person is considered living in extreme poverty conditions when their resources are below $1.9 per day, taking the inflation into account.
The good news is that thanks to the international help and the work of a multitude of NGOs, extreme poverty has been sensibly going down since the 80s, not only in numbers but also in percentage.
Nowadays, we have over a 9 to 10 proportion in favor of progress. In comparison, 90% of the world population was extremely poor until the 1930s.
Every day, 250,000 more people pass this threshold, according to World Bank figures. In the meantime, 300,000 gain access to electricity for the first time and 285,000 start having access to clean water.
There is still much to do but we go in the right direction. Go humans!

I can't believe that extreme poverty is dropping significantly while in reality what we commonly see is poverty and hunger . But by those number shown above I guess we can accept that it's some sort of evidence of improvement.
