MARRIAGE-1

Marriage is the holy union between a man and a woman ordained by God. God saw that man was lonely and created woman to complement him.
“Then the Lord God said, ‘it is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helper fit for him.” Gen. 2:18.

Marriage is ordained by the almighty God, it is made for a man and a woman and not otherwise, as there is today. Many have overturned the conditions of marriage as stipulated by the God of Genesis. The relationship that exists in many marriage is that of cat and rat, first love gone sour. However, the purpose of marriage as instituted by God is so enormous. In many homes, the woman has assumed the position of the man, and many others have fashioned out their own understanding of marriage, never wanting to be under any man.

“Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church , his body, and is himself its savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. That he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes it and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

PURPOSE OF MARRIAGE
FELLOWSHIP
The primary purpose of marriage is for companionship. Just like Adam needed a company while he was alone, God was purposeful in the arrangement of Eve to close the vacuum.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10
PROCREATION
Marriage is purposefully to continue the creative work of God. Therefore, when a man marries a woman, childbirth becomes necessary. Legitimate love making is only accepted in marriage. Any form of sexual relationship out of wedlock is considered fornication or adultery as the case maybe.
“And God blessed them. And God said to them, be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Gen. 1:28
Only heterogeneous marriage agreed by both parents is approved by God whether the couple are believers or not. Mark 10:9.
