RE: GoldenHour Photography – Sunrise thru Foliage – Koh Samet, Thailand
I had a nice little bungalow for about US$35! 😍 It was right on the beach, and there were about 10 other guesthouses resorts along that stretch of beach. All were separate by some space / trees, and all were accessible.
Food was a bit more expensive than in a Thai city. Whereas you can get a decent meal for 50-80 baht on the mainland, once you get to the island, the prices jump to the 100-200 range, or higher. Not cheap, but still affordable for even a budget traveller. (Depends on the budget, of course.)
The beach where I stayed was very quiet. One of the better restaurants closed at 6:00 p.m.!! Kinda early, but that gives you an idea of the LACK OF action on the beach.
If you want something more lively, go further south, to Koh Chang. White Sand Beach on K Chang is quite lively, and even a bit too noisy for my tastes. (Depends on one's age, maybe.😍)
If you like cheap, quiet, clean beach Ko Rong Samloem (in Cambodia) is a winner!
A few years ago, I read about those islands off Sihanoukville. I read that they were getting busier and a bit noisier. But if you've been there recently, maybe you can assure me that they're still quiet. Right??
Not all of them. Koh Rong is a "party island", Koh Rong Samloem is quiet but it depends in which beach you go...People say cheaper than in Thailand, but then I never been in Thailand!
