Why a Dutch Beach is Great (Sunset Time Lapse + Horse Riding Video)

Sometimes I forget how blessed Dutchies should be with their beaches, and although the weather is sometimes terrible, people are visiting the beach 365 days a year for walks, marrying, eating, swimming, sunbathing, jogging, new years dives, horse-riding, volleybal, soccer, surfing, fly a kite, building sand castles and what so ever!

Although this sea may be not suitable for snorkling it is still pretty nice and foremost, accesible. You don't have to hike for multiple hours to arrive sweaty and lay down resting from your hike. Its just a few steps away through the dunes where you can sometimes even spot deers, hares, cows and foxes.

Furthemore there are a lot of beach clubs located at the beach where you can enjoy a cocktail, meal or just an icecream during the hot days.

Callantsoog

My favourite beach location in the Netherlands is Callantsoog. My grandmother used to live here and I was here often when I was a child. It is also located a few kilometres from our house and easily accessed by bus or car(or 45 minutes bike ride). It is also a very touristic location, from April to October a lot of German tourists can be found here, energizing the small city and letting it flourish during the summer months. There are a lot of events, parties and markets during that time of the year.

I went with a friend Famke and we decided to go with the scooter which was pretty nice, you can ride through the dunes directly to the beach! (photos are combined from multiple beach trips)

We go together a lot to Callantsoog to walk with our dogs, for horse-riding, just relaxing and sun bathing or to get dinner/lunch. For me the best time to visit the beach is during sunset and we always try to do so.

Sometimes you find even art works at the beach.

Dinner in openair with direct view at the beach and sea, how relaxing. We ordered fruit infused water and I had salmon with fries for dinner while my friend enjoyed a delicious burger!

We've made also a timelapse of the sunset, it goes pretty fast!

Here a video of another way to enjoy the beach! You can go on for miles enjoying the pace and the horses enjoy it even more! Famke is riding the friesian (Black) horse, while I'm riding the bay horse (dicha).

So I hope you enjoyed this Dutch beach although many of you are blessed to have white sanded beaches wih crystal blue water! This has something special as well and I wouldn't miss it!
