RE: Learn Something New Every Day Contest. Day 4
Thanks for this contest @gogogadgetupvote, I'm really learning a lot.
OK for today, I'll still be talking about the information I got from participating in the petrobowl competition.
Did you know that much to Jay Z surprise, he was surprised that Auto Tune was developed by Andy Hildebrand an Exxon employee who worked as an electrical engineer. He was working on interpreting seismic data gotten from the exploration project. And later realized that the technology could be used to modify pitch in music.
The auto tune was first used by famous Musicians like Cher and in subsequent times, Snoop Dogg and T-pain employed it in their songs.
My sources are the Society of Petroleum engineers Petrobowl question bank and Wikipedia to support.
Nice! It's funny how people invent things while working on completely different projects or applications.
True @tj5553, he invented it to help in clearing seismic noise gotten from exploration data, never thought it would be used and accepted widely in the Music Industry.
Auto-tune is for talent less hacks who can't actually sing themselves..... Just my opinion. The "robot voice" thing is just not very euphonious. Interesting fact, plus I had to "Google" what the term for "pleasing to hear" was. So I learned two things from your entry!
