Learn Something New Every Day Contest. Day 11

I hope you guys are learning as much as I am!

This may be the most fun "learning" that I have ever had!

I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who participates in my contests! I know, you may only be doing it for the prizes, but it is still tons of fun, and I really do appreciate those who enter!

Contest Day 10

You can check out the previous day's contest by clicking on that link!

All you have to do is scroll to the comments section to see all the cool facts that were submitted yesterday, like the one about Pine roots being used as fuel during WW2, how butterflies taste (the butterflies ability to taste, not what they taste like to us) and one entry about snow, and not all flakes being different. Everyone who participates gets an Upvote for joining, but you can still show them some support by checking out the post, and Upvoting the comments that you learned something from!

Rules for participation.

Tell me Something I Don't Know.

Leave me a meaningful comment below with a random bit of trivia knowledge (if you don't know what a meaningful comment is, make sure you read the post by @ogochuckwu linked at the bottom of this post). It doesn't have to be the most fantastic bit of knowledge, it just has to be true. If you post something really hard to believe, I may ask you to cite your source or link me to something that backs up your bit of info. If you cannot provide me with SOMETHING (a webpage, a news report, ANYTHING) to back up you claim I will not consider it a valid entry and I will not Upvote your entry. If you say something like "Magic is real and I can shoot fire from my fingertips", I am probably not going to believe you. Like I said, it just has to be true (and somewhat verifiable).
All entrants will get a small Upvote for participating, (One Entry Per Person Per Day!!!) and my top three favorite will receive a 100% Upvote, a 75% Upvote and a 50% Upvote for teaching me something new that day.
Replies need to be in English or translated to English (If I can't read it, I can't judge it). You have about twenty three hours (give or take an hour depending on what time I get online that day) to make submissions to this post, at which time I will give out rewards and post the new Day's contest. Be sure to check the comments and support the other entrants. I highly encourage engagement in the comments section, and the vast majority of my Upvote power is used on comments. Earning rewards just for talking to each other is my favorite part of the platform, and I highly recommend Upvoting each others entries in the replies to this post! If the first three comments have Upvotes from me (the first one will be about a dollar), then I have already given out prizes for this contest, but the next one will be out shortly!
You must Upvote this post to be considered a "valid entry". This is not because I want the rewards from your vote. This is because I rent delegated Steempower to provide larger Upvotes as prizes to my contests, and your Upvote on this post helps me pay for that delegation, and spread more rewards to more users!

As always, thanks for taking the time to read my post!

This Is Some Fun Contest For Sure!
So here I go:

Did you know?

That elephants think humans are cute the way humans think puppies are cute? The same part of the brain that lights up in a human when a human sees a puppy is the same part of the brain that lights up in an elephant when the elephant sees a human.
😎🤡🤓🙊🙈😀

Now that is a pretty cool fact. Do you have a source on that one? I would love to learn more about that!

This one is my favorite. First Place today!

Yay!! Thanks so much! I'm elated!
Here is a link

#cheers

You're so nice for commenting on this post. For that, I gave you a vote!

Wow! Thanks so much! I love your name, LOL. I'll like to join you in making it a gang rape, consider taking me as a partner pls! 😀😀😀

Chocolate Milk was sold as a medicine.choccie-milk.jpg
Hans Sloane was a Royal physician who went to Jamaica in 1687 to spend 15 months as the governor’s physician and catalogued hundreds of botanical species including the cocoa bean. Locals mixed it with water to form a concoction Sloane described as “nauseous and hard of digestion”. He boiled the cocoa with milk and sugar, inventing milk chocolate. Back in England, Sloane used his milk chocolate recipe to treat digestion and consumption.

I did not actually know the origin of milk chocolate. Did not know it was a medicine at one time, either. Thanks for that!

Medicinal chocolate is Second Place today!

I am so happy to see your blog grow gogo, since I first followed you I didn't see a moment where you didn't help minnows or fight for good sake of community, my hat's off to you :)

Did you know if you flip bell peppers over, you can see their gender, peppers with 4 bumps are female and the ones with 3 bumps are male, males are better for cooking, and since females have a lot of seeds they are tastier for eating raw :)

I really appreciate the encouragement and well wishes! Thank you so much for your support!
I did not know that about sexing peppers. Definitely good to know tip for cooking.
On another note, I have a daily bounty post with no entries so far! https://steemit.com/gogogadgetupvote/@gogogadgetupvote/daily-introduceyourself-post-bounty-32

As i said always my friend, your post will never be less than 1 upvote - mine :) If I ever become a higher influence blogger I will always support you because you support everyone you are very good person. Thank you bro!
I submitted an entry, as I see people are submitting I guess they were all just asleep like I was :)

I love this initiative of yours. Anyway, did you know that in the Philippines, there is a city named Dumaguete. It derived its name from the word Dagit which in english means to capture. It is because Moros, Islam believers, used to capture women at that time.

I have learned this from natives of Dumaguete upon conversing with its locals.

I did not know that one. It's amazing what humans will name a place. A lot of historical places are named for some tragic or bloody event that happened in that place.

Yes. It may sound grim but it will remind the people about the history of their place.

Did you know that Cupid is Greek and his parents are the Gods Mars and Venus?

Little rusty on my Greek Mythology, but yeah, I am pretty sure I knew he was Greek. Not sure if I knew who his parents were, though. Thanks for participating!

Did you know that Venus is the only planet where Sun rises in the west and sets in the east. It is the most hottest planet in our solar system. Also it snows metal and rains sulphuric acid

I didn't know that the sun rose and set the other way for Venus. Is it spinning the opposite direction or something? And I thought that Mercury was the hottest planet, what with being closest to the sun and all.

Greenhouse gases on Venus make the difference and explain its hot temperature. Mercury has no atmosphere.

Awesome. That also makes great sense. Thanks!

Yes, it revolves around the sun in opposite direction...

Then that makes perfect sense!

Good evening @gogogadgetupvote, OK for today I'll be talking about the oil industry once again.

Did you know that the deepest oil well drilled is the Z-44 Chayvo well, Chayvo Field, Russia. It was drilled by ExxonMobil and the depth is 40604ft.
It is 15 times the height of the world's highest skyscraper, the Burj in Dubai.

Not sure if someone found this one for you yet but did you know that your voice over 'GoGo Gadget' was voiced by the same actor that player Maxwell Smart. Don Adams. The link to Get Smart didn't end there with the writer from Get Smart also writing Inspector Gadget after season 1.
Source

Someone actually dropped that tidbit a couple days ago! Good voice actor! Thanks for participating!

Ive been off the radar for a few days. I'll have to keep up for the next one 😁
