Some thoughts about the philosophy of René Descartes /part 3/

in #godflesh6 years ago (edited)

The mind and intellect Decart interprets itself as a manifestation of God's mind as a genetically-based cognitive model from which the "extra" concepts and concepts originate. Cartesian intuition consists precisely in the covering of all external phenomena, mental paradigms in a single whole - only then they can be somewhat unexpected.

The rules of Descartes

The proof of the existence of God As a logical consequence of Descartes's reasoning follows the idea of God. He himself hires to justify and validate it in his work. The default defaults are rational. Since knowledge is based on clear and accurate ideas, and God is presumably their source, Descartes thinks:

• The idea of a source of knowledge as such is proof of one's own existence, that is, the human psyche itself and the quest for knowledge are proof of God's existence.
• In the second place, the phenomenon - the object - as something sensible perceptible, but understandable only with the effort of thought or reason - only they can perceive in its essence and explain it.

In this sense, the object exists only as far as it is known by the divine nature embedded in man. So Descartes, even though he has direct followers in the "Cartesian" philosophical school, is a direct precursor to Kant's agnosticism. But it comes out of the basic Christian concept of God. In God, Father sees the potentiality of things, in the Logos - their concretization, and in the Spirit - their realization. That is why, in believing in the triune God throughout his life, Descartes focuses mainly on the aspects of the Holy Spirit. However, the philosopher sees matter and its laws as something that is contrary to the spirit within the sense of knowledge.

Material objects are recognizable as far as they are visible to the senses, but that is why this "knowledge" is illusory because the senses are imperfect. Only reason that is divine can perceive them in their fullness and explain them. But matter, as well as the human spirit, are extreme magnitudes. The only thing that can unite them is the endless God by definition. As a conclusion, it can be noted that in fact the cognitive evidence of God, similar to that of Blaze Pascal, is much more reflection than an attempt to conclusively prove that fact.
