Under the management of Lauretta on the eighth day, the company is entertained with "the jokes that women make with men and men with women" as well as with "the scams that every day treats each other"; this is the day when creative jokers prove their skill in the weekly "art of the farce". Maybe the most interesting story told this day is about the three painters, the simple-hearted Cuddad Calendandino and the two "witty and witty monsters" Bruno and Buffalmaco (novella III). The young Florentine Mazo del Sajo, a "great snare who loves to laugh everything," suggests to Calendandino that there is a gemstone called "sunflower" that "has such a force that he carries it with him, bearing it , becomes invisible to everyone, everywhere, wherever it goes. " The irreconcilable stranger convinces his friends to go looking for him and they head to the nearby village of Muneon. Suddenly Clanderino disappears from the eyes of his companions, stuffing his bosom with stones, hiding from Bruno and Buffalma, because he imagined he discovered the stone with miraculous power. He returns home with a large load of stones, his wife begins to curse him, he gets angry, he raises it, and then tells his companions everything they already know, but they have a lot of fun with the stupid naivete. A lively joyous laugh provoked the novel (IV) about the delusion of the lustful parish priest of Fiesole. The proud father is attracted to a widow, but because she does not like it, she plays a joke with tragic consequences for him. Imagined that he was lying with the desired lady Picarda, the holy father found himself in the bed of a "slightly curvaged" servant with the ridiculous name of Chutta. The widows' brothers, who witnessed the priest's place, gave it to the local bishop.

She took Emilia's "management" on the ninth day to offer everyone with their narrative what they "most like" and what "most draws them". The two most famous narratives of this day, struck by the embarrassing adventures in them, are the midnight mess in the inn in the valley of Muneon (novella VI) and the spell of Don Gianni (novella X). Two young men arrive at the inn and decide to stay in the inn. One goes to bed with the daughter of the owner, whose wife mistakenly finds himself in the bed of the other stranger. Later the young man, who slept with his daughter, falls to her father thinking she is in the bed of her companion, tells him what happened. The two of them are fighting, but the innkeeper's wife is quick to act on how to do it. She sleeps with her daughter and, with some cunning stories, fixes her scandalous mess. At the request of his puppy, Pietro Don Gianni made an art of magic to turn his wife into a mare. But at the moment she's about to queue her, Pietro is calling that a queue is unnecessary because it spoils the whole thing. The culmination point reached by the simple naivety of Calendandino, a sort of "serial hero" in Boccaccio's latest stories, has been reached in Novel III of this day. At the insistence of the three cursed jokes of Florence Bruno, Buffalmaco and Nelo, the authoritative master of the city, Simone, convinces their stupid friend that he was pregnant. The scientist convinces his naive patient that in order to escape the distress he must first pay back his friends not only for money but also for fattened cocks. So Calendandino manages to heal and "his baby" is not born.
