Traditionally, the models used within real estate have been somewhat effective, but mostly ineffective in the sense that they put up huge barriers to many investors being able to invest within them. The levels of restrictions that traditional real estate investment models throw up are pretty wide reaching, from the huge level of investment required to actually invest, limitations on areas available to invest in – take this example of trying to invest in foreign property – extremely difficult if you don’t have local support, and the masses of statutory requirements required to ensure an investment. These are often the final nail in the coffin of investors’ hopes and dreams of making a real estate investment.
