Gletscherschmelze - Glacial melting

Die Gletscher schmelzen, und das nicht zu langsam. Dieses Jahr beträgt die Schmelze am Stubaier Gletscher ca 2m. Das klingt vielleicht nicht viel aber wenn der Gletscher jedes Jahr soviel Eis verliert, wann ist er dann komplett verschwunden?

The glaciers are melting, and not too slowly. This year the melting of the Stubai Glacier is about 2m. That may not sound much, but if the glacier loses so much ice every year, when will it disappear completely?

Extrem auffällig ist es wenn man die Bilder von 2000 und 2015 sieht.
It is extremely noticeable when you see the pictures from 2000 and 2015.

Leider gab bzw. gibt es in dieser Saison noch nicht viel Schneefall, das den Gletschern helfen würde. Auch nicht, dass es in der Saison 2017/18 viel Schnee hatte. Der ist durch diesen heißen Sommer schon längst als Schmelzfluss in das Tal hinunter geronnen.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been much snowfall this season to help the glaciers. Also not that there was a lot of snow in the 2017/18 season. This hot summer has long since caused it to coagulate down into the valley as a melting river.

Und wie es aussieht kommt diese Woche nur ein bisschen Schnee vom Himmel herab.
