Prison Break Season 5: Phaecia- SPOILERS

in #getyerlearnon6 years ago (edited)

This is episode 6, for anyone that is keeping count. I found this one to be much better than 5, which is you recall I had said was the least interesting episode of the season thus far. Episode 6, while nearly as predictable as any other Prison Break episode, delivers on action.

So unsurprisingly at the end of episode 5, Michael and Co. fail to escape using their intitial plan of using the train station and also from their back-up plan of using the airport. There were still 4 more episodes to go at that point so it wouldn't make much sense for them so succeed. I for one don't really even like it when they include these mini-plans since only children who are unaware of the season's length would believe they were going to make it.

Episode 6 begins with the crew needing to get out of the city since ISIL has now taken over and is definitely looking for them due to their involvement in the killing of their leader. They score a couple of vehicles with a man named Omar who is going to take them to a place called Phaecia that is quite remote and no one even knows where it is except those that live there. The only person in their crew who knows how to get there is Omar, so if you know anything about Prison Break it should be relatively obvious who is going to have something bad happen to them.

ISIL catches back up with them after they have been provided a tip from the 2 agents / assassins who are working with Poseidon - and we aren't really sure who that is or what there objective is in hunting Michael at this point.

One of the quite dumb portions of the action is when ISIL has 2 trucks with soldiers armed with AK-47's attacking Michael and his crew. Michael's pal "Whip" has a gun with only one bullet in it but manages to detonate a fuel truck and kills all of them. Now, I don't need to look at the Material Safety Data Sheets to know that this is not at all what would happen if you shot a handgun bullet at a fuel truck. But whatever, right? It's a TV show, not a science documentary.

One man who is missing an eye is still following them at this point. His name is Cyclops, believe it or not and eventually Michael dispatches him in a pretty gruesome-for-TV manor.

you kind of feel bad for him even though he is the bad guy

I think i have revealed enough about this episode already but I will say this. It is probably the 2nd best episode of the season so far. The only downside of it is that the best character in the series (not just this season, but overall), Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell isn't in the episode at all. Pity..

Sort:

Phaeacia” sees the gang heading to the desert, finally giving fans that glimpse of Michael stumbling through the dust from the opening titles, though strangely, it actually takes place at night here. The desert isn’t just a welcome change of scenery, but allows talented director Kevin Tancharoen (known for his hit web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy) to pull off some of the show’s most visually sumptuous direction to date.

Though this episode’s ending ultimately reveals it to be yet another wheel-spinning exercise, there is at least a lot of the classic Prison Break silliness to keep it chugging along, especially a CGI drone (which, in a moment that passes for restraint as far as this show’s concerned, simply hovers above without giving chase) and a comically large gas tanker explosion that feels straight out of a Michael Bay movie.
And yes, Poseidon is still in the picture, and appears to be linked to…an Elvis impersonator (Duncan Ollerenshaw)? This was more baffling than intriguing in total honesty, and combined with a lame ending which saw Michael rescued by deus ex machina fireworks before forcing the gang to head back from whence they just came, closed things out on something of a sour note.

Oh Great Season 5 of Prison Break its also episode to good i love store its playing imagine in mind

Too much information! Am yet to watch it... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to enjoy it anyways

i'll put spoiler alert at the top of the next one :)

Really awesome plot of season 6 it seems. Season 5 was just a waste. Merely different to the 4 seasons. But this one has a new plan and different to the others. Omar has to take them to a remote place but ISIL has been informed and catches up with them to revenge the death of their leader. Looks thrilling and full of action.
