hunting for agates and other stuff

today was a very good day for Rockhunting...

I wanted to go early to be there before other hunters would be there and pick all the beauties...
But i failed miserably and did not leave home before 11.30, after 3 coffee and lunch...
For the quarry i had in mind for today i had to drive 35 minutes...
i went for the "Siemes" quarry ( Dutch owner called Siemes ) near weze... Nordrhein Westfalen Germany.

It is always good to go to "Siemes"....
A rich pit filled with treasure, a friend and Rockhound told me once, and he is right, i always go home with a small or big bag of agates. It depends on how much time i spend there.
first i have to walk to the woods to get there, the gate is closed in the weekends and i do not want to park the car in front of the gate, way to much attention....

A 5 minute walk and there i am, and the first mountain of small pebbles 16 x 32 mm awaits me... and there has been no others, no footsteps in the gravel... i'm the first today.... !!

And within a minute i have this in my hands. small but..... it agate...!

And then i find this... woowie, a mountain-crystal, broken but clear... i will polish this one later. very, very clear inside.

And within 40 minutes i have a handful of beauties

So i'm going to the bigger pebbles, a 10 minute walk, it is a big place...

And again... there is lots to find...!!
