Gate Thursday – Mileševa Monastery, Bell Tower Gate
Mileševa was founded in 1219, by prince Vladislav, the second son of King Stefan the First-Crowned and the grandson of Stefan Nemanja, with the intention to be his burial church. Vladislav was crowned King in 1234, and above the gate there is a mosaic inscribed: “Holy King Vladislav”.
