Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of Eden
It is a wonderful day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We are well known for our delicious, super sustainable cuisine and high vibe lifestyle, so we were invited to cater at the Medicine for the People gathering! While @truelovelives ran the VIP kitchen, @quinneaker shared the incredible potential of blockchain technology with hundreds of people in attendance. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!
We made a lot of great food over the multiple day event!
Cooking for lots of people is one of our fortes! We cook for our community every single day, organize many outreach projects throughout the year where we feed hundreds of hungry and homeless people, and cater many events in our extended community as well. So when the organizer of the Medicine for the People gathering invited us to cater this outdoor music and consciousness festival, we jumped at the opportunity to share our fantastic sustainable food!
We served many dishes throughout the weekend, and of course plants were a big highlight! We shared fresh raw salads at almost every meal. This one had mixed lettuces with cucumber, onions, carrots, peppers, garlic, and our homemade vinegar and oil dressings.
We made a lovely platter of grilled veggies with squash and sweet potatoes. As usual, we take a few moments to make the spread look beautiful to enhance the visual appeal and enjoyment of each dish!
We topped this tray of yummy veggies with even more yummy veggies! We stuffed bell peppers with curried lentils, quinoa, and pumpkin seeds with nutritious asparagus spears in the center.
For another meal, we baked pecan crusted fish! This is packed with protein and wholesome fats, and it turned out crispy, flaky, and juicy.
We made a classic creamy potato salad with tender potatoes, celery, onion, mayo, and lots of dill and fresh herbs. This is a crowd pleasing dish, as we know from "testing" it out many times on our full-time volunteers at the Garden of Eden - people gobble it right up!
Hot dogs are a classic dish at outdoor events, and they are very easy to serve and fun to dress up to each person's exact tastes! We have lots of organic meats and sausages and are glad to share them with our meat eating friends. This grilled up quickly and disappeared almost as fast as we could make them!
We love to serve fresh, wholesome fruits and veggies. Fruit salad is an excellent and tasty dish! We made this out of chopped apples, watermelon, cantaloup, and oranges.
Baked beans are another wonderful food that is commonly served at outdoor festivities like barbecues and picnics! We made this with pinto beans, onions, garlic, bacon, and a hint of brown sugar.
We made broccoli with mushrooms and onions, because everyone loves veggies and their delicious vitamins and minerals!
We made a nice couscous salad with squash, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. This had lots of flavor and tasted great hot or cold.
Eating outside is lots of fun, and we take care to cover our dishes with fun little food umbrellas to keep the bugs out. They make the table bright and cheery and serve a useful purpose!
The VIP kitchen was a big hit with the musicians and artists at the event. Everyone loves to have food, and it's even better to have delicious, wholesome, sustainable food prepared and served to you! The kitchen added a great, homey, considerate touch to a really great event.
Between meal times, we had lots of snacks and beverages available all day.
It takes a lot of food to feed so many people for many days!
We also offered our activated water with herbs and fruits along with tea and coffee for everyone's beverage enjoyment. Hydration is even more important than food!
Medicine for the People was a fantastic event, and we were honored to provide great food for the people!
Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!
Food is an honored & elemental part of our daily life in community. You can learn more about our unique, intimate, and super sustainable relationship with food here!
Photos are original to our epic feast and highlight just a taste of the thousands upon thousands of free meals we share every single year.
We are happy & grateful to share our abundance - there's more than enough of everything! If you or anyone you know wants or needs food, contact us - we will give you free food, no questions asked. We make this offer every single day, because we are here to help one and all.
Because we stand in support of the greatest good & especially the revolutionary potential of this platform, we've never cashed out any $teem or even powered down - which is good for everyone! This means that when you upvote our posts, you are increasing the value of your own $teem wealth as well!
Do you believe our efforts are valuable and beneficial for the world?
Can you match our annual contributions of feeding 40,000, saving 350,000 pounds of trash from the landfill, achieving a negative carbon footprint, providing a safe space for families and children to thrive, and educating hundreds of thousands of people for free?? If you don't have the time or manpower to change the world in this way, then consider sharing your resources so we can do the work for you!
