The Lucky Nut: The Tree That'll Kill You

This is the flower of the lucky nut which despite it's name isn't very good for us at all. They grow all over here wild but people grow them in gardens, from what we can tell symbolically. It's also called the be still tree because every bit is highly toxic and eating any of it will kill you.

There's a part of the central market any pagan would love as it's full of herbs and superstitious garb of all kinds including the stuff that the locals like to adorn graves and shrines with. Often times it's these nuts without the black fruit, which are a brown woody triangular shaped nut that are placed on top of graves as a respect to death as a concept in general....or that's how I interpret it anyway.

Sometimes this tree is used for suicide, but from what I understand it's a pretty hard way to go but poisoning would suck in general.

This tree grew in the garden for two years before I figured out what it was. I think my landlord planted it as a bit of an ode to her being still alive even with bad health.
