It's another RAINY DAY...

Hi folks! So, I'd really rather be posting about GARDENING!! But alas, Spring (and I'm talking to YOU, MARCH!) is doing the proverbial "Come in like a lion"...

So what to do on a rainy day? Go to the new Whitney Museum, of course! For those of you not familiar, it's a fantastic new museum space for the Whitney located in the Meatpacking area of Manhattan. Mostly modern art and exhibits and a few interactive exhibits. A great day in Mahattan, to me, is going to the Whitney and then walking up the Highline (a post about the Highline for another day).

These photos are from a visit to the Whitney a week ago..

Looks like my husband standing behind this umbrella, but well, it's just a pair of legs !

Below is actually my husband sticking his head up into what can be described as 'endless outerspace'.

And here is a beautiful stained glass mural in a space with lots of benches for resting weary legs and pondering Truth, Justice and Harmony

THis next exhibit was awesome where it looked as though there were endless floors of various room, but it was just endless mirror reflections - hard to explain...you'll just have to visit!

And this- NOT part of the museum...but a good view through a window on the 5th or 6th floor of the museum of one of the many NY water towers - a common site throughout NYC.
