The recent plant nursery visit - Echeveria Purpusorum
I am like a kid in a candy store when I visit garden centers and nurseries. I cannot leave with one plant only. It is impossible. And it is better not to let me in at all if I am not allowed (says who?) to get some more plants.
So recently we visited one of my favourite places that looks almost like a botanic garden with narrow paths and strange exotic plants tucked up everywhere. Plus the owner also tells us cactus stories and he has amazing knowledge (and collection) of all those weird ones from around the world.
Of course first I had to look at everything and then head over to the selling tables.. oh candies!
Here comes the first one of the 7 plants I picked :)
This is Echeveria Purpusorum. I am a sucker for all those rosette shaped succulents. And this is one is just stunning. Dark, slightly milky green leaves with purple-brown patters on them. I suspect the pattern and colour will be more pronounced when the plant gets stressed in hotter weather or in winter when the cold winds get to it. And the bottom part (top photo) is even more stunning!
If I am lucky she will still bloom this season with lovely red, bell-shaped flowers. Quite typical for Echeverias, but the colour seems darker than on the one I already have (at least that is what Google shows me). Honestly I don't even care if it blooms I love the foliage!
Can you see how the leaves shine in the sun? They are completely smooth to the touch, like waxy candle. And they are filled with sparkly glitter.
I chose few of the smaller plants. I was hoping to get that cute purple cactus (never remember the name). I saw them there last time, but there was none.
But for now... this is the first out of the 7 I got. Six more to go :))
Stay tuned!

The story about the cactus plant, I really like the plant, a very good post I always enjoy this post buddy
Hello, how beautiful some great images happy Wednesday
Thank you Txatxy :) Happy Wednesday!
I am a sucker for succulents as well...their fibonacci-ness, their alien qualities. You captured this one beautifully and look forward to the next six.
Yea, they are such cool plants! Next one coming up tomorrow :))
I also have one of those and it has wonderful flowers. It took me a long time to get it to be happy and if I can give you one tip: don't put it in full sun or it will become dull grey and unhappy. Partial shade and cooler temperatures (like underneath another plant) and you will have a beautiful plant with all its red bits
Thanks! Right now it gets some morning light but then it's all shaded. It is a good spot for summer, in the fall I will have to move it or it will cook. Hope it stays happy :)
I love this Echeveria too! My plants are a bit darker because I keep them in full sun. And, you are right, the body of a plant itself is more amazing than flowers.
Last year photo of my plant:
Wow, yours is almost copper! Still very pretty but I love that purplish colour.
It is 3 plants in one pot or it grew like that?
Again... love the pot!
It is 3 plants in one pot. And the oldest one is branched, has 2 rosettes!.
This is last year photo, now they are a bit bigger and are in buds.
Superb plant, I have exactly the same and it is blooming!
I'll put a picture tomorrow of this one.
Very good choice...
Yes please! I want to see yours :)
I wanted this one for a while, but only saw it online. So I had to get it now!
