One of Those "Supposed to Be Posting This and Posted This Instead" Moments
Have you ever had that moment when you were supposed to post something else but like a joke something else has been presented to you and you find it pretty much more relevant to your last post so though you've spent hours preparing what you're supposed to post you decided .... f#$k it! ~~~
I was supposed to water my strawberries in the greenhouse cause though the heavens cried rivers of tears and wailed loudly the other night, them strawberry pots remained dry inside with the other tropical plants I've placed there. Then this came along, hovering in front of my nose then chose to nestle on this bamboo stick I used to support the branches of our goose berries.
!
Gushing, "They're back!", I put the bucket full of water down in front of this apparition and went back in the house to get my phone hoping he's still there when I get back.
He stayed there for a few minutes and moved from one bamboo stick to another.
While I was taking shots of this cute lil' fellow I then I saw another winged shadow above me also taking its flight. Nature could be such a tease and I'm a very much willing to pay attention so I followed it and ended up here.
Well, as for the butterflies, they were not the first - it's been days that I've been trying to shoot at least one but they were so aloof the past days. These days, they're used to me they even tease me landing on my face or shirt sometimes.
Yes, I still got to water the plants in the greenhouse and no winged visitors in my garden were hurt while making this post - they were and are still there while I was writing this - nipping some honey and probably crunching on an annoying aphid on a stick .
I took each pic and vid with my Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 edition. Obviously, all those videos were taken spontaneously and all of this is just a personal gardening moment. It's all a result of "shoot now or let the chance literally - fly away".
Are you new in Steemit? Kindly read the Complete Steemit Etiquette Guide Revised Edition authored by @thecryptofiend to help us all get along well with each other. Hopefully you do get to read it now since there's nothing else that comes after it except that picture below.
Compliments for this intensive dragonfly moment. I think the insect is collecting bamboo fibers. That's the reason why they hop from stick to stick. I have to watch the great movie again…
…no evidence for collecting fibers. In their habitat are a lot of reeds. So they use to make stops on stícks. Your bamboo sticks are comfortable for them.
hi thank you
am always glad to find you here
yes, they like everything that sticks out
It happened a couple of times with me! When I prepared my posts about invasive species (for days), sometimes something "urgent" was more appealing to post. Usually, I saved the work in a notepad and posted it a few days after ;)
I still have one pending post about my beloved cats...saved in a notepad and waiting for the right mood!
thanks for sharing :)
glad to see you around
I try to be around, but sometimes it's hard!! Sorry...but I will always have a special connection with you due to the SCC and I love how detailed you get in your posts about gardening and that kind of stuff!!
hey no need to apologize
I haven't been around for many many times
so there
too busy unfortunately :)
I apologized because sometimes I really forget to check some of my favorite blogs. But time spent on Steemit must be limited, this can be very addictive and I need to put a break on it! ;)
no need to apologize
am barely here
i also dont often get to check yours
also taking breaks every now and then
we still have to live our lives you know :)
Ok, no more apologizing! Have a great weekend! :)
So beautiful pics, @englishtchrivy ! Sometimes happened I supposed to be posting "this" and I posted "that", for example some days ago I supposed to be posting about one of my sketches, but I posted about the stage in the main square of my city :D
thank you :)

You have fun with nature. Likewise I'm today.

they're the best therapy - at least for me :)
Lovely insects, the butterfly more than dragonflies ...but why are they called so?
thank you
Your "flies" are resteemed and followed - well done!
Very nice pictures. We have a hummingbird come around but I can never get a picture of it.

Hey that last pic is a "dagpauwoog" right? That's quite the angle being able to see the lower eyes completly. Did you use any special settings?
