Im the same i do both, but normally there my own starts grown indoors, i prefer to sow direct as its less work and garden in the house to keep the wife happy.
But if i dont start early and under lights my love for chillies and sweet peppers would be affected as we dont have a growing season long enough to sow direct ☹

Finding room for the starts always seems to be a challenge...
Tomatoes are the big one for me. My wife and I love them and use a ton. I really need to build myself a nice greenhouse...
