@wildhomesteading hosts a great weekly contest for homesteadlers and gardeners. I wish it continues like Steemit Sandwich Contest, which is in its 92st round this week :)

Here is my first entry to the contest.

What I'm working on now is to grow summer veggies and herbs that aren't easily available especially Japanese/Asian ones.

Bitter melons (top left of the photo below) still stays indoor as they need 20-30 degrees to grow steadily. They need quite high temperature to germinate so I was warming the seeds in my berry warmer few weeks ago. I'm happy to see their growth and looking forward to plant them outdoor in the end of the month.

Another unique ones are Myoga (Japanese ginger) and Mitsuba (Cryptotaenia japonica). I plant them in a same container as both of them like humid half shadow environment.

It's hard to describe their taste but they are some how must to add refreshing spicy taste to Japanese summer dishes.

私が植物を育てる理由は・・・食べたいから！！今年になってようやくお花もいいなと育て始めたものの、うちは依然食べ物だらけです w

ドイツでは手に入りにくい日本野菜、たくさん食べたいトマトを育てています。紫蘇に続いて、ミョウガに三つ葉、お腹で温めていたゴーヤも発芽し、これから大豆とオクラもまきたいもののいかんせん寒くて20度をこえる日が続くのを待っています。

@wildhomesteading さんが最近始めた Homesteading and Gardening コンテストに参加したくてそんなことを書いてみました。
