Garden is blooming! A row of squash blossoms!! And a heavy, four-item harvest :)steemCreated with Sketch.

I took this as a panoramic shot, so you could see all the squash flowers blossoming on the left side of the garden. Those are starting to develop squash, but they're all still quite small -- that row was planted from seed.

Our older squash and zucchini plants were planted from starters, so were further along, and have been giving us yummy healthy food for several weeks now. This picture is two cucumbers, a green zucchini, and a yellow squash (we also have yellow zucchini, which is kinda neat and only a little potentially confusing :) ). To tell them apart -- the squash has warts. :)

Together, the four vegetables weigh almost 5 pounds!

Enjoy!

I'm so happy the garden is producing so well. The kale from the garden was lovely in the soup! It's wonderful to use things from our garden every day now.

It sure is! Brought in two big tomatoes this morning, and ate two cherry ones while out there. :)

Very nice veggies looks like a bountiful harvest ahead!

Nice harvest ! I wish I could grow my own veggies. I just have a balcony so it wouldn't work too well... hehe

Last year @libertyteeth and I did container gardening and were surprised at how much we grew. Something to consider. ;)

Sounds interesting, how exactly does it work ?

We bought "Homer" buckets, and Lowe's buckets by accident, and then found that if we put one inside the other, it'd wedge in and then we could carry both around by the top handle! A happy accident.

We drilled holes in the top bucket, 1/4", and cut old socks into strips, then tied a knot in one end and pushed them through each hole, so they dangled into the bottom bucket. Then we'd put soil in the top bucket, and plant whatever we were growing in it (generally last year, we grew from starters; some things we grew from seed, like lettuce which we started much later).

Then when we watered, we didn't need to worry about over-watering, as any excess would drain into the bottom bucket -- and then, would be "wicked up" by the sock when the soil started getting dry.

Worked really well. Also I set buckets out to collect the water falling off the porch's roof, and I was able to water with rainwater basically the entire summer. Now we need much more water, as there's a lot more soil. So we're using city water, but I'm really interested in a rain collection system for next year.

i really love you fruits

This looks like a small field of zucchini. Nice that you have so much space for it.

Yeah it's only a 3/4 acre lot, and oddly shaped, wider at the front. There's a hill on the right which can't really be used, we have some flowers on it. And we had to put a drainage ditch in, as the garden was flooding from the neighbor's bog, to the right; hasn't flooded since we've done that.

This is our biggest garden so far. Going bigger next year! :)

Thanks!

Wow, sounds like a lot of effort and fun. I am happy with my garden too. Small and used in a good way. We are just harvesting our apples. Love it.

Hey sorry I didn't see this earlier! Please, do a post on the apple harvest? And if you would, mention it in a comment to me? Thanks! :)

Will see if I have time for that. I have taken some photos, gladly.

Dang, those are impressive! You're getting some really pretty veggies and hefty, too. Good work!

Thanks! I keep forgetting to curate more effectively so just spent some time on your blog. :)

Lovely. The cucumber looks really green and healthy. My mother went to the market today to buy cucumber because she loves it, but couldn't get. I would have loved if she got this one.😀😀

Would love to share it with you both! The "pond" is a little big though... :)

Which pond?

The Atlantic Ocean -- the Brits have a term, "across the pond" meaning going to America. :)

Wow, this is interesting. I have learnt a phrase that i really like from you. Thank you.

wow that's looks great and healthy :D
