RE: Garden – Adapting to the new climate

in #garden7 years ago

I wish I could send you some of our rain. It's raining yet again and a tropical cyclone is supposed to be hitting the country overnight. Up north, there is already bad flooding and the storm hasn't hit yet.
But in the absence of rain, good job starting to make some changes to accommodate how things are. That looks like a nice, relaxing spot.
I hope your back has recovered!

Sort:

@kiwideb, we are a month into our rainy season with less than 10 mm's received. It is indeed a pleasant spot, as the birds play and sing above my head ...sometimes with an interesting deposit in my vicinity ...lol... and I can watch the bats chase insects at dusk.
edit: I hope the cyclone did not do too much damage :(

After all the media frenzy, it was a non-event. We had some rain overnight (and it's raining again quite heavily now), but it's rained nearly constantly all spring, summer and autumn, so nothing new. And it blew a bit this morning, but Wellington is always windy. And we can't even find anything severe that's happened elsewhere in the country. So I think we can say it's business as normal. Except that it's a public holiday!
And speaking of holidays, I'll be looking out for your Tom post :-)
