🍅🌽🍉Garden Update! Going Strong🥕🥒🥜
The good, the bad, and the downright ugly
🍅🍅🍅Tomatoes are the star 🍅🍅🍅
We do only non GMO, organic, and try to stick with heirloom so our crop has not been great in the past because of disease, pests, etc. so we went crazy this year and my wife did probably 100 starts and more direct sow. It's new ground to us so we tested the soil and it was only lacking nitrogen which we added. We used steel posts and 4 strands of wire along with some soiled goat bedding and manure for mulch and boom. Tomatoes gone wild! This pic is actually about a week old and the tomatoes have exploded. Every one is producing or about to, even some of the ones that looked sickly after transplant. It's incredible but kind of a head scratcher considering our paltry harvest last year.
Baby Maters!
🌶🌶🌶Peppers are the dogs🌶🌶🌶
Peppers did great... last year but they are struggling this year and of course we planted less of them.
🥔🥔🥔Don't buy clearance plants!🥔🥔🥔
I bought some red potatoes and garlic off the clearance rack at Tractor Supply. Some were already rotten and I wasted the few bucks I spent and the time to plant.
🌽🌽🌽A Common Theme🌽🌽🌽
- The things that did not do well last year like tomatoes, corn, onions we planted a ton of this year. BIG MISTAKE

How goes your garden?
You are the Real deal. . if i fail at crypto and get crunched by the Big Banks can I come Live and Work on your Farm for Delicious steems and potatoes??, LOL
We are all failing at cyrpto ATM lol and thank you sir!
pew pew _-.. .
It's always a good idea to grow your own vegetables because there are always many additives implented when you buy them in the store. I'd love to taste some of your vegetables! Wish I had the space to do this! Have a good day
Especially tomatoes that are plumped up with water weight... its a problem with pay by the pound produce. ALL WATER!
Jersey tomatoes are the best, can't wait for our jersey corn to get here to.
I like the emerald evergreen just because its weird to eat green tomatoes. Never had Jersey tomatoes or corn! I'll have to add it next year
Jersey tomatoes are definitely the best
Beautiful garden, thanks for the advice.
An organic way to keep pests from eating the leaves of your plants: if you have grown hot peppers in the past you can make your own pepper spray. Just be careful and make sure to only spray it on the leaves.
Happy gardening!
I heard about that! Why just the leaves? our inflatable snake scarecrow and the ribbons/whirly things are helping but yeah the lettuce is getting chewed to bits
Well, for example on a tomato plant if you spray it on the fruit, the tomato will absorb the spicy flavor.
That's a bad thing lol got it, we're trying it soon, like today!
Good luck!!
You have a beautiful garden indeed! Keep it up.
Thanks! 😊
Winter where I am and not much happening but your garden is doing pretty good and looks like you'll have a great harvest on most of your produce.
Thanks, we're getting better year after year. Not like California where you plop stuff in the ground, add water, and it grows
Where you from? NVM I see it in your profile
I'm from Melbourne in Australia where our weather is hot and can be humid in the summer but cold in winter though where I live we only get frosts and no snow.
Hate the humidity and snow of Ohio. San Francisco Bay Area is my home with cool coastal breezes in the summer, mild winters and NO humidity... The growing season is insanely long but of course we didn't do much growing there when we were young and more concerned about cars, clothes, houses, etc. I did more as a kid and I seriously remember just putting seeds in the ground, watering and poof magic plants. the things we take for granted, go figure. Grandpa also had a farm but i was more interested in avoiding it and all the work. Now I wish I could just sit with him for a few hours and ask questions
Really, the clearance things died?! That stinks! I do, however, ALWAYS buy clearance perennial flowers! Because they are awesome, totally worth it.
My garden is very sad. I should share it soon. I have no hopes. Hahaha
meep
Love when I get a meep!
meep
I may have just given up on them too soon... they could still pop up. We've had things we thought were dead come back strong
Plants are pretty resilient! :) I hope they surprise you!
