Fall Garden: Week 7/8 Beans!
The pole bean has started to deliver! I pulled half a pound of tender pods for dinner yesterday.
Beans, cherry tomatoes, and the last of the radishes.
Assembled in a roasting pan with olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
40 minutes at 400F later: A delicious platter.
The bush beans are starting to load up with flowers and baby pods.
Another patch of wax beans under the cherry tomato:
The broccoli and Brussels sprouts are blowing up!
One plant has the beginning of a head:
The cucumbers are filling out:
They are even reaching out with some blossoms underneath.
It is so rewarding to taste the fresh produce and provide for my family!
This Thai basil is begging to be turned into fresh pesto.
Love,cat
Thank you so much for being part of the #socalsteemit community.
Awesome, thank you @socalsteemit!
I can’t wait to grow a garden! I’m so jealous.
Since you’re growing it yourself, do you care about washing it? I don’t think I would.
Oftentimes I will graze right off the vine! I believe we share lifeforce with the food we grow ourselves <3
Very well said @creationofcare, I think I’ll use that one.
Great looking garden there! My Thai basil looked like that back in August, but didn't get enough water after that, and I barely found a handful of leaves today on the two plants that I have. I'm still planning to dig up the larger of the two and bring it in before the frost, but it looks beat already.
We are blessed with almost a year round growing season here in Southern California!
Oh my God, send over some of that basil stat. Your garden looks so loved and beautiful @creationofcare, great job tending to it. Your veggies hauls just keep looking better and better. Nothing tastes better than home grown and roasted veggies. 😋 yum!
So true! I am going to whip that basil into a jar of pesto to share with others camping this weekend. <3
You go girl!
