How is your day my dearest steemian friends? I hope that you have a great one. Tomorrow is weekend, have you decided with whom you spend the time? For me, I will spend my time with my family and my friends. Ok, today I'm doing one of my daily activity which is writing an article about reviewing a game. Today, I'm gonna review a video game called Contra. If you have read my old post that reviewed Contra, perhaps you're wondering why I review it again. Ok, I will explain to you why I'm doing this. Actually, Contra that I'm reviewing this time is different with the old one. The real name of this game is Contra: Hard Corps which released for Sega Genesis.

Contra: Hard Corps

Contra: Hard Corps was launched by Konami which utilized Sega Genesis as its platform. It was released in South Korea and North America in 1994. Then, it was also released for Mega Drive with name Contra: The Hard Corps in Japan while in Europe and Australia it's called Probotector. This video game was the first Contra series that was implemented on Sega platform.

Five years later after the tragedy of Contra III: The Alien Wars, a rebel named Colonel Bahamut led a terrorist group. An alien cell which recovered from the war is stolen by this terrorist group. They have a plan to create dangerous weapons by utilizing the cell. In the previous Contra series, the heroes are Bill Rizer and Lance Bean. But in this Contra series, there are four new heroes which are known as the Hard Corps. They are asked to solve this current situation. Furthermore, the ending of this game is more than one.

Gameplay

In every stage in Contra: Hard Corps has two different objectives that must be completed. The first is to shoot every single enemy and fight against the boss that are waiting for the player. the player walks on foot in most of the stages but in some game, the player can utilize a hoverbike which can turn to an ostrich-like robot and the player also can ride a motoroid. Then, all the stages in this game are side-view perspective. It's different from the previous Contra series which use overhead segments at the end of the stage. In addition, the player can choose four different unique characters.

The player control is the same with Contra III and it has been improved to match with Genesis's standard controller. The player can switch the weapon, shoot, and jump by use button A, B, and C respectively. In certain platforms, the player can jump down. Then, the player can do sliding technique which is a new ability. Then, certain enemies can be harmed by performing this ability.

In this Contra series, the maximum number of the weapons that can be brought by the player is four. The player can get the weapon by shooting flying capsule pods. A machine gun is a standard weapon that each player at the beginning of the game. Then, this weapon can be enhanced to be a semi-automatic weapon. However, this weapon is lost if the player loses a life. On the other hand, in Contra III, the weapon that the player is using does not lose.

Plot

The story of Contra: Hard Corps is in 2641. There is a special group named Unified Military Special Mobile Task Force K-X". This group also has another which is named "Contra Hard Corps". They are sent to handle the crime and illegal activities that increase massively. When an unknown bad hacker hacks the security of the city. The hacker rewrites the program of an anonymous robot group to make chaos. Then, to deal with this situation, the Hard Corps are created.

Opinion

Ok, I've explained the important information of Contra: Hard Corps. This part, I'm about to rate this game. Firstly, I start from the storyline. The plot of this game is amazing. The heroes of the elite group should defeat the crime and illegal activity in the city. Then, the various character can be chosen and the several weapons can be utilized. The player also can perform jumping, shooting, and switching the weapon. In short, I give 9 of 10. Ok, here we are at the end of my article. See you in the next post.
