Valve Is Getting On The Blockchain With An Esports Platform
Valve is the biggest name in pc gaming. Not because of their great quality games but because of their platform that sells games. It is the most used platform to buy download games from and for good reason as it offers some crazy discounts. I remember games going on sale for 80%. And now this giant is getting on the blockchain with an esports platform. The goal is to have a platform that can also track rank and stats for the players.
This is big news for both gaming and blockchain. I really can't stress how big this company is and if makes blockchain the norm it will probably lead to most companies following suite in the space. There are advantages that this tech has that could not be utilized before and you will really see this is the gaming world in the months to come.
Online gaming is a great space for growth in the esports world. When a tournament is held there needs to be people watching to make sure the play is fair and it is usually held in one area. But with blockchain you can hold big tournaments whenever and people around the world can enter them knowing it will be fair. It will lead to a lot of opportunities in the space and help further grow this already exploding space.

Usually the small guy starts the party and the big guys join in later. It takes a lot to get that party going.
I am not much into gaming and that means that even if I know a few stats about valve, I am not aware of its true impact on the market. Even then to me it seems that this party is set to be epic from the beginning :-)
Valve is known for fucking things up.
