Could We See The Death Of Consoles?steemCreated with Sketch.

I came across this article about cloud gaming. It takes about the ease of downloading a new game on your phone and then playing it on your tv or pc. No more consoles. This future is already here in a way, you can play a lot of third party games on your pc but it is an expensive hobby. You want to play a AAA title with top graphics you are going to need a top end PC and that will set you back. But what if we didn't need that, what if we could just stream games on your television. All you would need is a controller. To me the two biggest pluses would be being able to play games for cheap, I miss renting. And being able to play online with everyone, no more pc, xbox, ps separation.

This might be the last generation of consoles.

Here is the article:

Could gaming is an interesting concept, but you need to keep in mind that the VAST majority of the world doesn't have access to quick and stable internet on the go.

So I doubt we will see it work in large numbers for at least 20 - 30 years.
And perhaps not even than, if the hardware gets powerful enough, cheap enough and most imporatantly - power efficient enough that could computing in not needed for the tasks people want to do.

And there are services that allow you to do that even now, but they aren't really popular.

Even Microsoft starting moving towards gaming on Windows 10. I know they're coming out with revised models of the Xbox One, but I don't see them working on anything else afterwards.

Ya this might be the last of the consoles, except Nintendo, they will always do their own thing and find success.
