I've won well over 20SBD in prizes playing poker in the Steem Poker League. But, the best part has been making friends. The feeling I get when I see a familiar face from @spl on steemit posting about something non-poker related that they love is amazing. Of course, I always upvote their posts and can't wait to see them back at the tables.

What's New on Lucksacks?

The purpose of this post, however, is to highlight updates to the gameplay on lucksacks.com.

Previously, as evidenced by my payouts to my account as seen above, we were paid out in SBD. However, with the addition of more regular tournaments with bigger prizes we have also seen the switch to STEEM payouts for some tournaments. With STEEM trading at 1 STEEM/1.4 SBD, that's more money for us! Yay! The general format of tournaments and their prizes is now:

For No Limit Hold'em:

Hourly 0.30 STEEM Freeroll
1 STEEM Freeroll every 4 hours
Daily 10 STEEM Freeroll at 10am Pacific time(PT)
Daily 18 STEEM Freeroll at 5:30pm PT
Community Casino's Thursday Night 20 SBD Tournament

Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Hi-Lo Omaha, Limit Stud, and Limit Razz Tournaments

Plus, 0.3 STEEM Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha tournaments every 4 hours. 0.3 STEEM Limit Stud Freeroll every 12 hours. There are also daily 0.3 STEEM No Limit Omaha Hi-Lo and Limit Razz tournaments.

Play Chips Matter!

Steem Poker League has been and always will be free to play and free to sign-up. With real SBD (now STEEM) prizes, you can imagine some people weren't playing so.... traditionally. In short, they would shove all-in just to hope to get the big stack and win that free money. Or they would idle at a table and hope they were still in it come the final table. And with nothing to lose, who could blame these people?

That's why @tuck-fheman and the fine people at @spl have implemented some limitations on the play "chips" with which we may enter tournaments on lucksacks.com. Instead of being able to top up hourly, we now get to top up to 100 free chips once per day. Hopefully, this encourages people to play a little more...realistically. Tournaments now "cost" (remember, chips are FREE! the only change is you can only get more once per day) 10 chips to enter for most tournaments, 20 chips for the @ccasino Thursday Tournament, and 50 chips for the daily 10 and 18 STEEM No Limit Hold'em tournaments.

Play Ring Games and Satellites to Get More Chips

"But I'm a really bad poker player and I will run out of all my chips before the big tournaments!?#%" Fortunately for you, there are two ways to get more chips if you can't wait until your daily top-up.

Ring games in the SPL

On lucksacks.com, if you go to the Ring Games tab, you will see a variety of Ring Games available to play. These allow you to utilize your sick poker skillz to win more chips. We have NLH, LH, Omaha, and H.O.R.S.E. So, come join a ring game and try out your luck!

Introducing Satellite Tournaments!

A new feature on lucksacks, Satellite Tournaments are another way you can make it into the Daily 18 SBD Tournament when you've spent all your chips. They require no chips to enter and if you win all three levels, you get a free ticket into an 18 SBD Tournament + 10 chips.
