Old games were like a puzzle. Before the internet, you were pretty much on your own to figure out what is going on with the gameplay and the several secrets there may have been.

Spending hours in finding a way to abuse the system or discover an easter egg felt very rewarding.

Today you can find all the answers online. There is no reward for finding a flaw and abusing it and secrets are no longer secret.

The gameplay has improved tremendously. So did the visuals. There is just no mysticism about them.
