Fortnite is having its first "Content Update", which is how Epic Games refers to it, on all platforms, introducing weapon balancing, vending machines and more.

The 3.4 content update features Vending Machines that will be at random places across the island in Battle Royale, the vending machines will choose a rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary) and will sell three items for each kind of material (Wood, Stone and Metal) and the prices are as follows:

  • Common Items (White) = 100 materials
  • Uncommon Items (Green) = 200 materials
  • Rare Items (Blue) = 300 materials
  • Epic Items (Purple) = 400 materials
  • Legendary Items (Gold)= 500 materials

On the Weapon balance side, the changes are as follows:

Some weapons are getting "first shot accuracy", which boils down to 100% accuracy on first shots as long as you have not fired recently and are standing still. Also, damage reduced due to distance has also been modified. The weapons to be affected are:

  • Suppressed Submachine Gun
  • Tactical Submachine Gun
  • Pistol
  • Suppressed Pistol
  • Revolver
  • Hand Cannon
  • Assault Rifle
  • Burst Assault Rifle

Apart from that there is also a new mode for a limited time, "High Explosives v2" with remote explosives and guided missiles added.

Blizzard plans to make Overwatch "less toxic" by implementing AI that reports toxic behaviour before you have to, plus, Overwatch Archives.

Jeff Kaplan, game director for Overwatch announced on the latest Developer Update, the efforts of the studio to minimize toxicity in-game by experimenting with technology that will identify and report bad behaviors. They are doing this by "Teaching" the AI what counts as "bad language" and what is to be reported. Of course, they emphasize that this is not an overnight implementation, as teaching AIs how to work takes time and testing, but the goal for the long term is to report players that contribute to toxicity before you have to do it yourself, which would make the whole enviroment safer without having to rely on player's reports only.

Also announced, was the event "Overwatch Archives", Kaplan explains it as: "There are the cool past moments in Overwatch history and by going into the Archives we can relive those." And goes on to say that "Uprising" is part of that content and that the lootboxes will feature content from it as well as new content, and also hints to a new skin being available in one of the new lootboxes from the event.

PUBG's Savage map opens for Squads and Testing Keys sign-ups are re-opened.

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS Steam page announced access to squads on the closed server in which "Savage", the new map, is being tested. However it is also noted that queues could be longer than usual during off-peak hours.

They also announced the giving away of testing keys as it was just re-opened. If you'd like to test the new map on the closed server you can still get a key on this link.

Along with those announcements, also a few changes have been made for the map, as listed below directly from the announcement page:

  • Increased the item and weapon spawn rates inside residential buildings and small cabins to improve the looting experience along the outskirts of the map.

  • The first blue zone circle will show up right at the beginning of the match so players can plan their strategy before parachuting.

  • Blue zone time adjusted to speed up gameplay during the first phase of the match.

  • Red zone frequency has been lowered

  • There are now fewer explosions inside each red zone. The size of the red zone remains the same.

  • Vans now spawn less often. The two-wheeled motorcycle spawns more often. Motorbikes with sidecars have been removed from Codename: Savage.
