Nintendo

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the highlight of the Nintendo conference, featuring every character to ever take part in Super Smash plus two new ones. It's not a misuse of the word ultimate featuring so many characters, 65 in total, without counting Echo versions.

A highlight within a highlight is the inclusion of three different versions of Link, Toon Link (my favorite), Young Link and regular Link, making him the absolute protagonist, if the cover wasn't clear enough.

Watch the Trailer here:

Minecraft, Paladins, Fortnite, Monster Hunter Generations, ARK, Hollow Knight, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Killer Queen, Xenoblade Chronicles, Overcooked and Arena of Valor come to the Switch and in the upcoming releases we have Square Enix's Octopath Traveler, Super Mario Party, Fire Emblem, Splatoon 2 Mario Tennis Aces, Daemon X Machina and Pokémon Let's Go.

Octopath Traveler and Pokemon Let's Go announcements were featured here and here in past SteemGC Mid-Week Gaming news if you want to check that out.

Super Mario Party will have interaction between two screens when placed together and also online features called Mario-Thon which consists of online mini-games.

Also, sharing release with the Switch are Sushi Striker and Captain Toad for the 3DS.

Metroid Prime 4 and the in-development Pokémon RPG were not talked about during the conference.

Overall, Nintendo is putting its effort to bring popular games to its console as well as bringing new titles, some familiar, some entirely new, and enhancing experiences with the way Switch works.

Sony

Sony's highlights were definitely Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II, the latter being revealed to only be playable with Ellie, and will feature smarter combat, different items and much more interaction and immersion.

You can watch the trailer here:

Kojima's Death Stranding continues to mantain its eerie and cryptic atmosphere in its Gameplay trailer:

People were quick to point out how gorgeous Ghost of Tsushima looked with impeccable graphics and stunning aesthetics that bring to life a Samurai story in an open-world enviroment.

Other titles by Sony are Spider-Man, Days Gone, Dreams and Tetris Effect for the PS4 and Firewall, Ghost Giant and Déraciné for PSVR.

Square Enix

Square Enix Showed us stuff from their already announced games such as the crossover between Final Fantasy XIV and Monster Hunter World, and gameplay from Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Babylon's Fall but the most popular news were the announcement of The Quiet Man, a hybrid between live-action and gameplay that looks interesting and new, and its trailer, here:

And of course the huge announcement of Kingdom Hearts III for 2019, with trailers for Pirates of the Caribbean and Frozen, looking incredibly good, entertaining and faithful to its concept:

Other titles are Just Cause 4, the Life is Strange Spin-Off: The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and a port of The World Ends With You titled Final Remix for the Switch.

Ubisoft

Ubisoft showcased a lot of awesome-looking content with the highlights being Tom Clancy's The Division 2 for 2019 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey for this year, the former will enter beta before release, and is multiplayer, and the latter having more of a role-playing approach, having two characters that are playable, multiple endings, different outcomes in quests and even romantic interests regardless of gender.

The Division 2 is set in a civil-war-torn Washington DC and is based in cooperative play:

And Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes place in Ancient Greece and follows you as a mercenary descendant of the Spartan King Leonidas:

Other titles from Ubisoft are Just Dance 2019, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Trials Rising, Skull and Bones (A naval Style game), The Crew 2 and Starlink: Battle for Atlas, which will feature StarFox's Fox McCloud as a playable character on its Nintendo Switch version.

Electronic Arts

Battlefield V and Anthem were the headliners of EA's conference as both games are very awaited. Anthem is described as a mix of third-person shooter and role-playing and Battlefield V is a first-person shooter that is centered around party mechanics.

You can watch the trailers here:

Anthem E3 Co-op exploration trailer:

FIFA 19, NBA Live 19 and Madden NFL 19 also made the announcements as well as Sea of Solitude as well as Command and Conquer: Rivals for Android and iOS.

Microsoft

Ok, so... Microsoft covered around 50 games in its conference and talking about all of them would need to be another post if need be, so let's talk about highlights and games that are not in other conferences already for the sake of simplicity (this post is long enough already to dive into everything Microsoft covered 🙂):

Halo Infinite is shown, not long after Halo: Fireteam Raven was announced on May, but with only a small trailer there's not much to know apart than the intent for it to be released in 2019 on Microsoft platforms.

Ori and the will of the Wisps was also very popular as its predecessor: Ori and the Blind Forest was a huge success back in 2015. Maybe players welcomed the announcement with excitement.

The Gears Franchise got 3 titles announced: Gears POP, Gears Tactics and the highly anticipated Gears of War 5, all shown in the Gears of wars presentation bellow:

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, published by Activision, was also covered, expected to be released in early 2019:

PUBG News were also shared during the Microsoft conference, with items and upcoming maps announced accross all platforms:

Bethesda

Bethesda's conference hit us with more info about a surprise announcement and that was the reveal of online multiplayer Fallout 76 two years after the latest installment on the Fallout series: Fallout 4 leaving fans torn about the announcement due to the worries of Fallout 76 lacking a single-player mode much like previous Fallout games.

Not only that, but also The Elder Scrolls VI got a little trailer to share too and fans of the games place it tentatively on Hammerfell although it says nothing else. The game is still in Pre-production and Bethesda said in 2016 that it wouldn't come soon, but after the 2017 announcement that no TES game was under development, this is at least a pleasant surprise:

Quake Champions was another highlight for the long-running franchise, featuring fast-paced and intense shooting, something Quake players are used to:

Aside these highlights, and Android/iOS The Elder Scrolls called Blades is set to release later this year as well as Rage 2 for early 2019.

Devolver

Devolver showcased its upcoming titles: Scum, a survival multiplayer set to enter early access this year, and My Friend Pedro, a platform-style shooter set for 2019 release.

PC Gaming Show

PC Gamer held a show in which several other games were covered from several other developers like Sega, Hi-Rez Studios and 505 Games.

505 Games reminded us that Don't Starve: Hamlet is set to be released on this half of the year, which is very soon and also revealed Control, a third-person shooter that features a weapon that can manipulate the enviroment in all kinds of ways, and it also has a Co-Op mode:

Sega announced Team Sonic Racing, Total War: Three Kingdoms, the simulation Two Point Hospital and the worldwide release of Valkyria Chronicles 4 later in 2018.

There are many more games but I tried to make a rundown of the most relevant and talked about for you.
