Hearthstone: Nerf Thoughts! Sweepestakes!

in #gaming6 years ago

There have been 2 major updates ringing in the Hearthstone world. One concerning a meta changer in lieu of the coming expansion this March (or April). The other is concerning a life size Lich King helmet, only to be donned by the luckiest of Champions and many many (Super Many) more!

First off, I would like to start with what is about to change the Meta this Feb Season in Hearthstone.

NERF Thoughts: It's about damn time!

We are expecting 4 Meta changing Nerfs about to hit Hearthstone's shores this February. Nerfs that has been called for and begged by Arena and Ladder players alike for almost the entirety of last year. More focused on ladder, these changes are said to fix the Wild side of things in preparation of the new expansion, this coming March. And will shake up the whole meta game before the expansion and the new Hearthstone year hits.

Patches the Pirate

It's time has finally come. After having wrecked havoc the entire Meta last year, Patches is finally getting hit with a Nerf Gun removing it's CHAAAAARGEEE!

Loot Pillage and Burn!

I am pretty sure we can remember how it was defined in Pirate Warrior and Pirate Rogue which lost Small-Time Buccaneer. Losing that did not stop the cancer Pirate Warrior from continuing the pirate plague which personally got me to Legend one time. All of that Pirate Warrior cancer stopped when the War Axe finally broke at 3 Mana. All the while, Patches found his place in many other decks such as the Evolve Shaman, Tempo Prince Rogue, Aggro Paladins, Zoo Warlocks, Aggro Druid, even Spiteful Priest. Patches is everywhere!

But with the Nerf to the face, is it really the end for Patches? Who knows, we will be seeing him in Wild, or Not. Time will tell but definitely, I will always owe my first ever Legend Rank to the buccaneer behind it all... Patches.

Bonemare

Almost all of the Tempo decks have him. But his presence is so much more feared in Arena than anywhere else. At 7 Mana, you put a big body while buffing someone else into something thicker and meaner. Very scary indeed.

With the Nerf whack, Bonemare is going to go up to 8 Mana. I'd still say it is playable... well mostly in arena. With the 8 Mana, there are definitely something worth more in ladder, but this is definitely something that remains to be seen.

Raza the Chained

And with that regard, you will be chained some more, only this time, with your hands behind your back, gagged, and blindfolded. You will be shackled from existence, Raza!

I am sure with that statement, you could say I am a Razakus Highlander priest hater. Well I am for the most part. This is because I never had enough dust to craft the entire Highlander deck, and as an aspiring F2P player, I would not want to spend a penny on a very expensive deck such as this. If I had, I would be jumping on the bandwagon, refreshing my hero power as it goes.

The Razakus Highlander priest is definitely something the priest players have wanted for a very long time. Priest presence was generally low when Standard came. This was the only time it boosted its presence becoming cancer like but not really there yet. I know that if I had the opportunity to, this would be very very fun for me to play with. Nevertheless, with the Nerf to the Hero Power being 1 mana rather than 0, it seems playable, but the machine gun just runs out of bullets faster than before.

Corridor Creeper

One expansion in, did not even reach the next expansion. Talk about another small-time buccaneer Nerf. Much like Bonemare, this has seen in plenty of decks in this Meta, ranging from Zoo, Hunter, Tempo Rogue, even Secret Mages. This is being utilized almost anywhere cheating out a 5/5 for low to zero mana cost. Along with Bonemare, you can easily put out a 9/9 Taunt Minion along with another 5/5 body on the board at turn 7.

With it's Nerf to 2 attack, I wonder if this will ever see play. Speculations discuss the possibility of including it into a more Beast archetype maybe in Beast Druid or Hunter. But for me, it's days are over. As soon as the patch hits, they will poof into shining shimmering beautiful dusts.

These are my thoughts on the incoming NERFs. It really boils down to the question of "will it ever see play again?". Maybe some will, maybe most of them won't, not anymore. But we can never say never, we can only wait and find out for ourselves how the meta will change without these 4.

Hearthstone Quest for Packs Sweepstakes!

Do you want to win 3000 Packs? I know you do, so what if I told you, you can also get the Lich King's Helmet along with that because there should always be a Lich King. And why don't we just dress you with a Hearthstone Shirt, Cap and maybe a Pin to go along with that. Yes! You can definitely have a chance to win just that.

There will be only 1 winner that can win all those 3.

• 3000 Packs (1000 from each Expansion)
• Lich King Helmet
• Hearthstone Apparel

While 1000 winners will be getting the Mammoth Bundle which consists of 10 Card Packs each from the Un'Goro, Frozen Throne and Kobolds and Catacombs expansions (A total of 30 Card Packs).

Unluckiest of heroes which belongs to the 50,000 champions will be getting 1 Card Pack from each expansion (A total of 3 Card Packs).

Not too shabby! All you need to do is to finish your daily quest for the day, every day. 1 Finished daily quest entitles you to 1 raffle entry up to 14 Raffle Entries for the 2 weeks this will be running on.

So we have to make sure to complete our daily quests for the day to submit our entries. Good luck to each and everyone of you heroes out there!

Packs of Mammoth Proportions!

Together with the awesome Raffle going on, the Mammoth Bundle is also available for purchase for 16.99GBP (Maybe 19.99USD). This includes 10 Card Packs for Each expansions that happened for the Year of the Mammoth.

This is something that is definitely very tempting even for an F2P Player such as myself. This is limited to 1 purchase per player only - definitely a steal considering the bang for the buck.

Final Thoughts!

This has definitely been a week of awesome announcements. Just a few more thoughts that I would like to imply on the Nerfs is: "What will happen to the Warlock Class now that it's Cube Lock remains untouched?" I can still plenty of people cry over the Ultimate Infestation OP. What's in store in the new expansion that despite these guys moving to Wild, they still get Nerfed hard? So many things to talk about, so many more Steem topics to write with.

I am in need for so many inputs such as how you think the NERFs would impact the current Meta, how you want to badly win the Sweepstakes and lastly, if you want to see me STREAM My Hearthstone Grind via STEEMGC when I have a chance. Let me know in the comment section below and I'll make sure to get back with you with whatever.

First of all, thank you for the wonderful guide and your thought.

About the nerfs, I think Bonemare will keep its place in deck, but also will force to change some strategies and change some cards in deck.

Quest for Packs Sweepstakes sounds really insane 3000 packs really wow!

The 3000 packs should take more than a day to open I think, a lot of time spent just clicking and dragging.

To some extent, I have to agree with you on bonemare still seeing play. But to how popular it will still be, that for sure, is going to take a hit.

I am very happy that you enjoyed it. Thanks for having me. @udgu

I am now just curious how long will it take to open all 3000 packs. I think I will make a quick calculation here:

Considering I will open a pack just draging and clicking 5 of them and clicking done will take 3 seconds. 3000 x 5 = 15000 seconds = 250 minutes = 4.2 hours. That is just clicking the cards and drag and dropping. I mean without doing anything else just doing it like a robot will take 4.2 hours.

I think it will take more than a day to open all the cards as you said.

Whats funny is that I actually made a video of my kobolds and catacombs card packs. I opened a tad bit higher than 100 packs and ended up with almost an hour stream. But that was with talking. Im very curious now.
