First of all, thanks to everyone who upvoted my first post of this serie. I've been legitimately blown away by the number of people who got interested in my article and I hope this one will please you as much as the first one. Today's subject (mobile games) has been suggested to me by @jorawar, thank you for the great idea. Don't forget to give some ideas for the next subject in the comments down below ! I won't lie, before digging into the Google Play Store, I didn't have much faith in finding really interesting games. I've always seen mobile games as variations of the same game published again and again online, you can blame that on the Google Play Store's front page which is filled with those kind of games. However, I'm happy to say that I was wrong, mobile games actually open the way to some innovative gameplay mechanics that wouldn't work as much on a more traditionnal gaming gear. So without further due, here are five of my favorite mobile games I played this week.

Blek is a puzzle game with a pretty simple gameplay that I hadn't seen anywhere else before. The goal of the game is to collect colored circles in every level by drawing a line that goes on an infinite loop. So basically, it starts where the last loop ended, which makes the line move around in the screen. Some levels can be really tricky if you don't focus enough but it's never unachievable. The difficulty increases the closer you get to the final level, there are 80 of them.

In Dark Echo, you are alone in the dark. The only way to see the level is to walk. It will make sound waves that can reflect against obstacles. Be careful though because there are evil things that want you dead and will chase you if they hear any sound. The trailer will probably explain the gameplay way better than me. All in all, a good horror game that must be played with headphones on if you want to enjoy it to the fullest.

In this game, you play as Leopold, a rich furball who got his fortune stolen and who tracks his thief down through various landscapes. On your way, you'll have to solve puzzles even though it is more of a platform game than a puzzle one in my opinion. The game is gorgeous and has a total of 19 levels that can be beat in about 3 hours.

As the name of the game insinuates, you are in a room with a mysterious chest at the center. Your goal is to crack it open by solving puzzles to unveil its mysteries. It's fully focused on puzzles and exploits a lot of different puzzle mechanics that won't make you get bored : assemble keys, see elements with a filter, turn objects in a 360° radius, etc. The Room is a must in the puzzle genre on mobile. If you like it, two other games have been made after the success of this one, enjoy !

unWorded is a really unique experience that you absolutely should try. It lets you dive into the world of a writer who is being hospitalized. Each of the five stories told have gaps that you must fill by making an object out of letters in order to remind the writer of the story he wrote. The animation style with only letters is incredible and never seen before. Each story is also told in a poetic way. A must-have if you like games that bring new ideas to the table.
