The deserts of Ark - Extreme weather conditions

in #gaming7 years ago

In this post, I will continue my story about the game Ark: Survival Evolved. This series is about the Scorched Earth map.

Previous posts in this series: 1.

The new desert map in Ark has some weather conditions to look out for. On previous maps, you would sometimes have rain. This was an easy time, because when it rained, you would automatically fill up your water needs and you could fill your water bottle from anywhere outside.

Rain is still one of the weather conditions on Scorched Earth, but it is quite rare.

Besides rain, you also have a chance at thunder storms. During these electrical storms, your machines will shut down. This includes some advanced weapons you might carry. So that's something to look out for.

Another thing to look out for is a heat wave. Hey, we're in the desert, so you're bound to get hot! During these heat waves, you'd better look for shelter inside your house (with door and windows closed) or inside a tent. Managed to build yourself an airco? Even better! The temperatures rise very high and if you catch one during the day and are unprepared, there's a good chance you'll die from the heat.

We found that heat waves during the night are nothing to worry about though. No overheating at all, just a nice, warm temperature.

The last notable weather condition is a sand storm. During these storms, your stamina will reduce to zero quite quickly, making it extremely hard to perform most actions. You will also have very limited sight (except for when you wear desert googles like in my screenshot) and sand will get added to your inventory. This last thing isn't really that bad, but once it stacks up, it'll start to weigh a lot, so you might have to drop it.

Getting caught off guard in an extreme weather condition can be quite annoying and sometimes might even mean death. There is a solution to this though! I will tell you about that next time.

If I am to be honest, the weather conditions were one of the things I didn't like about Guild Wars

This was about the Ark weather conditions :-)
I'm not actually sure if I've ever really noticed weather condition in Guild Wars :o do they have any effect on gameplay?

Good post. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It's surprising how much uneducated investors the crypto space has. You still see people invest in this shady and scammy coins. I was researching a way to find more info about the current cryptocoins on the market. An interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com They researched and analyzed every tradable coin out there from a investment, team, product, transparency perspective. Really interesting.
