Rise of Steemit #3: Steemit Ironman (Europa Universalis IV)

Welcome Back Steem Folk!

In the previous episode, we faced some difficult times in the Steemit nation. Hope seemed all but lost, but we survived by the skin of our teeth. You can see it HERE.

Let's pick up where we left off.

Steemian Renaissance:

Steemit has been left in a precarious position since losing its loyal subject, Jolof, to Mali. You can see the remnants of Jolofian rebels still trying to gain independence.

We set our eyes to other shores quite literally.

After developing our capital of Arguin, we've come to learn of the Renaissance and embraced it for we seek glory for Steemit.

The fetishist heathens in Fulo have been left with only one province after being attacked by both Mali and Timbuktu, so we prepare to invade it.

Before our troops can move into position, yet another swarm of Jolofian rebels rises. We barely manage to defeat them.

While our troops siege Fulo's capital, we begin learning the ways of bureaucracy in order to gain more out of our national taxes.

As the war ends, we force Fulo to become our loyal subject, hoping to use them as a buffer between us and Timbuktu.

We place Kleitos, one of Ned's cousins, on the throne of Fulo.

We take action to justify our wars so that we take less aggressive expansion in the future.

Unfortunately, Polydoros passes away during Ned's childhood. Queen Adaeze takes over and she isn't a half bad ruler. We focus inward to try and fix our economical issues.

With the threat of Mali ever present, we seek friends in their enemies. The people of Oyo gladly accept our request for an alliance and we bless them with a royal marriage.

Though we had heard tales of bronze cannons from the north, we had only recently seen them in Steemit. They will most certainly aid us in the future, but for now we can't afford to keep any around as they require much maintenance.

Ned Scott, son of Polydoros and grandson of Ned, takes the throne. He is a great diplomat and has an heir, Polysperchon, already.

Seeking further allies, we look to Songhai, who also dislike Mali.

It looks as though we can start a golden age in Steemit, however, only one golden age is allowed per campaign, so for now, we hold off. Perhaps there will be a better time in the future to start one.

While Oyo's army is occupied with war, we see they are plagued by rebels and send our troops to aid them.

Ned Scott wishes to learn more of this strange world around us and so has his men look into exploration.

With exploration, comes the need to decide what to do with the natives should we encounter them. We decide to repress them in order to spread our influence as quickly as possible.

We look west, to the small islands off our coast. Though there are no natives present, our colonist faces dangerous waters.

Once he arrives, he establishes a colony and people from all across Steemit seek to join him in Cape Verde.

And that's all for now!

Thanks for Reading!

I was hardcore player of EU3 . I was so crazy about it that i had to read every potential game event in game files, as they were kept in plain .txt . Every event has conditions like sliders, neighbors, influence, reputation, bad boy score and i think lots of RNG checks. Such a complex game. Great post psycho! :)

Thank you. I never played EU3, but I'm so hooked on EU4. I used to play Civilization until I discovered this game and I can't even look at Civ anymore because I find this so much more involved and interesting.
