Blazing Chrome coming this year

Ever wished you had access to some of those old retro games you used to play with friends and families?

Well, most times game developers do go as far to recreate this game in a good and better settings, by setting am referring to the character design and game graphics, they tend to modernize it to bring something that is more of the present leaving behind that 2D settings and creating a whole new type of game, although the objective might seem the same, but the gameplay wouldn’t be as much fun as it was back then.

Earlier today found a game that actually reminded me of my childhood and to my surprise the developers actually left the same graphics and setting intact, meaning you still get to have that retro game feeling when you play it, the straight path all shooter still available there.

Recall are we could actually use these game as a speed run, contesting with friends and families who will defeat the boss first be it on level 1, stage 1 or whatever you call it.

Now unlike the previous game, the games seem to be a combination of two retro games which were actually popular in the 1990s. Still thinking about the games am referring to?

If you a gamer or used to be one, then you definitely played the game Contra and Metal slug, yea the same games you played back then.

The game am referring to is called Blazing chrome,

It offers the same setting as we once experienced on those two mentioned retro-games above, no modern graphic or interactions with NPC was used and the game is still the same all-out shooting with a straight path where you get to play with another user in a co-op game mode.

While you push forward, you are presented with various bosses and minnows whose work are to keep you away from advancing forward, and not in a friendly way xd, but rather an all-out battle with them shooting as well.

While others spent more time on the game Metal Slug, my childhood was rather more of Contra

Contra actually had different types and also was available on various consoles which included the Sega Genesis and also the Nintendo NES, the contra been used in this case is Hardcore.

Most users I knew way back then, did not actually play the contra hardcore but rather stick with Nintendo Contra.

I don’t know if this was familiar in another region back then, but during my time, there was actually a CD player that had the features of Nintendo emulator, meaning you could play Nintendo games on the player, the game catridge actually was a single CD disk and if you were lucky then, your parents would have made a purchase of this CD player without them actually knowing.

While others were lucky, I wasn’t, but we had something better, the actual Nintendo console xd, which was not in any form common and other parents actually refused to buy one for their kids then, little did they know the CD player they bought a while back actually came with these games lol.

Life then was really interesting and the game Contra really made the days’ worth waking up to, the thrill you get when you advance further than others, unlike emulators we now have that actually works on Windows, back then the option to save your game progress was not available, and when you are unable to beat or defeat the game with in-game life that was presented to you, next will be game over and by that I mean you had to start the game all over from stage 1.

The game was interesting and same time annoying.

It seems the developers of Blazing chrome had a similar thought.

As I said, the game is more of a combination of metal slug and contra, from the game trailer and gameplay we have seen so far, you can easily come to a conclusion on that.

One of the similar features would be the game weapons that was distributed on contra, meaning in other for you to change your weapon, there was this weapon crate that was usually transported and you had to shoot it down and also move closer to it to weaponized yourself.

Most times we were lucky to get access to good weapons than our previous ones and other times not so much, as a kid we actually named the guns with different names to identify them, although they were not their actual name but kids have one of the greatest imagination if I do say so.

Other features include the two-player co-op mode, the contra did come in a solo or two player mode, meaning you could defeat the boss in a co-op mode or better yet go into the fight alone and if a player is killed while in-game, the other player could advance further alone and the only way to revive the other player was if after defeating a stage boss, an extra life was presented to them.

That been said, the game promises to be more fun and if you looking for a game to play with your kids this year, then the game Blazing chrome will surely come useful.
