Esport Game with the Largest Prize Pool of $ 15.6 Million
Dota 2 is one of the games with the most players in the world, with the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre, this game is very popular among the public. Dota 2 is a sequel to the Defense of the Ancients mod in Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. DotA 2 was developed by Valve Corporation, and can be played for free. Dota 2 can be played exclusively through the valve's official distributor, Steam.
Dota 2 is played by 2 teams, namely Radiant and Dire teams, each of which has 5 players, each team has a base, named "Ancient", the task of the team is to protect their Ancient and try to destroy the Ancient enemy to win the match. Each player can only control one "Hero" character who focuses on leveling up, collecting gold, buying items and destroying the opposing team to win.
To win the match, you need strong skills and teamwork. Each team must understand the conditions and situations of the game that are very complicated in order to strengthen their team. Each team cannot use the same hero, each hero has different skill characteristics. And "lasthit" is needed to collect "gold" where "lasthit" is very influential on the individual skill of the player.
Dota 2 has a long gameplay for one match, because it must strengthen each hero and the team to destroy the opponent's Ancient. For one match it takes a minimum of 40 minutes, so the Dota 2 game is not suitable for play by workers who are very active or high productivity because it is very time-consuming.
Dota 2 has the biggest prize among other esport games from the International Tournament which is held every year by Valve Corporation. Increasingly the price of the dota 2 tournament is getting higher, in 2019 the OG team defeated Liquid in the final party held on Sunday (8/25/2019) at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Shanghai, China, with the best of five format. As a reward, they succeeded in bringing home a prize of USD 15.6 million or around Rp. 221.7 billion, consisting of Johan 'notail' Sundstein as captain, Anathan 'ana' pham, Topias 'topson' Taavitsainen, Sebastian 'ceb' Debs, and Jesse 'jerAx' Vainikka.
