Top 10 Action Role Playing Games
In the beginning of ARPG genre this type of games were named Diablo clones, because first few years nobody played anything similar on the PC, later ARPG became it's own genre. One trait that these games have in common is quick action and tons of loot. Find better gear to fight stronger enemies for even more loot. Simple concept but fun to no end. Here we go.
1. Diablo 2
Action RPG from Blizzard that improved everything original Diablo offered, 5 classes to choose, with expansion 7. 5 Acts of monster slaying and loot finding, Diablo 2 was that type of game where you could search for hours finding that special gear piece. With demonic evil lurking all around this was such a fun game to play. To this day fully playable. There is a word going around that Blizzard will make HD version of Diablo 2. Stay tuned.
2. Dungeon Siege
Microsoft game that was very popular at the time and even movie was made about it featuring Jason Statham and Ray Liota. In this game you could create the whole team of fighters and go slay huge amount of enemies. Fasted paced ARPG, i had a lot of fun playing this game.
3. Nox
One of the 1st Diablo "clones" on the market. This game had great character development, great story and fun trap gameplay where for the 1st time in ARPG genre you character could jump over the obstacles. Still looking great 10 years after.
4. Titan Quest
Mythological based ARPG where you could mix 2 classes and create a new one. That created quite a lot of build options and to this day there hasn't been any similar type of game. Well until Grimm Dawn. You would fight any mythologic best from different mythologies.
5. Grim Dawn
Spiritual Successor of Titan Quest is Grim Dawn. In this world you take the roll of a human in ethereal possessed body. Ethereals are some kind of magical creatures from other realm that are trying to conquer the world. Not while you are around with you arsenal of weapons and skills.
6. Path of Exile
Path of exile is a Free to Play game and can be installed from Steam easy. Now this game is constantly updated and improved, this game has the largest skill wheel in any game ever. I will show you that on screenshot, prepare to be amazed. In this game also your skills come from the gems, so it is not your standard ARPG format. This system actually works and for some people this is the best ARPG ever. Customization is limitless.
7. Torchlight 2
This was one of the more colorful ARPG's on the market with quick action. Very smooth game in the absence of better ARPG's served as a great relax and chill kind of game. I would recommend this one for any starter that is interested in this type of games.
8. Bard's Tale 4
I loved this game. You are a Bard that is trying to save the girl from the monster. What is different about this is that this game took comedic approach. You could play this game, have fun and laugh your ass off from the story quests and fun NPC's. This game even had a narrator. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Beer song from the game :)
9. Sacred
This game was released in 2004 from German developers Ascaron entertainment. In this world of Ancaria there are many magical creatures and you can even play with fallen angels named Seraphims. All other classes were also different and fun, for example you could play as a Vampiress and Deamon. Sacred 2 was also great.
10. Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption
Now, this game was really special at the time of release. You play as a vampire from the age of crusades until the present age. Vampire clans fighting in this world of darkness is one of the most immersive APRG games ever. This game had a successor Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, one of the best games of all time.
Superb post @moon32walker!
Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption
Diablo and Sacred takes me way back when I was playing hours and hours until I complete a quest or 2 but then you wrote about:

It was my pleasure.
What about:
?
They are not diablo clones but action rpg (KotoR / Fallout maybe tactical rpg)
Those are all turn based RPG's. When you pause the game and give your party orders. This is just non stop action rpg list, you can't pause, just hack&slash.
bards tale is on your list ...
Slightly different ARPG but still is when you see the gameplay.
