Gaming Retrospective - Prey
Prey is a FPS game from 2006 where we play as an American Indian Tommy who got sucked into alien ship and with the help of his spiritual guide he will need to escape the aliens and return to Earth. Even though Bethesda used the name of Prey, the new game has nothing in common with this original Prey game. Prey 2 was in the making but it got canceled even though the game had great potential. At the time the graphics of the game were spectacular and you needed to have strong configuration in order to play this smoothly.
This game had some crazy level design and physics bending portal mechanics. Tommy would roam through the huge alien Sphere ship and use the alien weaponry against them. Spiritual walk is one of the game's key gameplay mechanics where Tommy's spirit would go to astral plane of existence in order to solve puzzles and use spirit bow to take out some alien scum. Prey did everything right and it was one of the most fun and atmospheric FPS games I ever got a chance to try out. Absolutely worth playing today.
Hi. It seems you are a very good gammer. Nice document. I also love to play games on my off time. Also it makes me feel good when my mood is down. Nice to read.
Thank you :)
You are most welcome.
Oh, the nostalgia just hit me so hard right now! I miss this game, so damn much!
It is one of the greats for sure.
Looks grouse!
Yes, there are some grotesque looking aliens in this game. Fun :)
It actually still looks very modern, I would play it
So many games used that graphics engine, even today.
I need to check if this is on sale during the next Steam sale. It looks like something I would like to play.
Thank you for the nice article.
Highly recommended, specially if you have older PC, so you can run it just fine.
