Gaming Retrospective - Alpha Protocol
Alpha Protocol is an RPG that was released in 2010 and was developed by Obsidian. Obsidian Entertainment is known for their epic RPG games like Neverwinter Nights 2, Knights of the Old Republic 2, Fallout: New Vegas and recent Pillars of Eternity, game like Alpha Protocol is not a type of game they normally develop considering the game is happening in today's modern times. Alpha Protocol is one of those games that you either loved or hated. Story is revolving around field agent Michael Thorton that found himself in a midst of the conspiracy against him that will lead him to many locations all around the globe to find out who is behind it and take them down.
RPG system of the game can be a hit or miss depending what choices you picked for your character development, you could for example hit a brick wall if you didn't spend any points on assault rifles. Some other skill choices like hand guns and SMG's were not as great as assault rifles. Combat was a buggy mess and you could only have fair shot at completing the game if you went with a good build. With good build game can be quite a blast special when you include the best feature of the game, the dialogue system that made things interesting and replayable. Alpha Protocol is an interesting game, with good amount of patches and modes could be epic in the right hands.
I only have one thing to say: THERE NEED TO BE MORE GAMES LIKE THIS ONE! I loved this game, I only wish they didn't kill it after the first game, I actually did a video on an old youtube channel about this game. You sir. I like you.
Thank you. I think Obsidian will surprise us one day with the sequel, until then I think Pillars of Eternity 2 will be hottt.
Oddly enough this is in my steam library and I havnt picked it up yet lol. Though I might soon now

It's soooo great. Still install the Ja2 with 1.13 mod pack once in a while. Have to uninstall it's soo addictive. JA BIA is pretty good too with some mods to rebalance. I am constantly hacking the config files to boost the enemies and give me an more insane mode...
Ha! I also played Jagged Alliance: Back in Action. Place your guys on choke points, set ambush, have fun. More modern graphics, old game feeling.
I sometimes spend more time messing with the config files than actually playing it.... JA crossfire is pretty good too but less epic map scale. Know if there are any successors planned?

I love rpg games but have never tried this one. Lately ive been playing really old games like 007 lol
This one might be worth you a while if you never played RPG in a modern environment. Obsidian made it, that is a sign of quality always.
