No Man's Lie and how Sean Murray ROBBED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS with FALSE CLAIMS of Universal Multiplayer

in #gaming8 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit community , recently the highly anticipated game No Man's Sky has been released for Xbox One , PS4 and PC after many years of development. The concept of NMS is to travel the 49 Quintillion planet universe whilst exploring and discovering new solar systems & planets with randomly generated species and landscapes , eventually making your way to the center of the universe. Sean Murray the Founder of No Man's Sky had taken on many interviews prior to the initial release , explaining the specific aspects to the game including multiplayer. Here is a video of some of the claims made before the game release :

Now as you can see on multiple occasions Sean Murray confirms that Multiplayer is possible within the game. "Yes , but the chances of that are incredibly rare because of the size of what we're building" or "The only way for you to know what you look like is for somebody else to see you". THESE ARE COMPLETE BLATANT LIES

Directly Following the launch of No Man's Sky two players made contact. After discovering that a planet he'd landed up had been found by a user called Psytokat, a player by the name of TheGalacticCactus messaged his fellow space traveler to stage a meet-up. Realizing how rare of an occurrence this is , they both started streaming to show others what had happened. Throughout the stream, viewers have seen the players stand in the same space stations, speak with the same planetary denizens and stop by identical waypoints, only to never actually see each other. Both of the players still continue to play and stream together even though they cannot physically see one another.

After this incident occurred Sean Murray released these series of tweets :

Murray completely misses the point and disregards the fact that he has been caught lying about the network of NMS. Honestly the game is very unique and i enjoy exploring planets and discovering new species, However i was sold when i heard there was going to be multiplayer and dreamed of exploring new planets with my friends. Now that no multiplayer is confirmed i am very disappointed and anguished  at Sean Murray and the developers behind NMS for lying to the public about their game network and selling false information.

Thanks. I was seriously looking into this game, but I think I will pass now!

I enjoy this game a lot, I wouldn't base your opinions on this article.

Let the witch hunt begin. You seem to have left out the parts where Murray and the developers say repeatedly that it does NOT play like a multiplayer game. They never feature or go at length talking about multiplayer. So why is it that everyone is focused on multiplayer when there are a ton of amazing things in the game? It's ridiculous and you should be ashamed of this article. Adding to toxicity based on a feature that the devs clearly stated was not a a focus of the game. http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2016/08/12/no-mans-sky-succeeds-not-because-of-what-it-is-but-what-it-lacks/#1883f63b890c

Personally I spent 12 hours on the release day exploring, learning alien languages, getting brain augmentations by aliens and having a blast.

I extremely enjoy the game and have spent many hours discovering new planets and languages , However this article is not about the content of the game it based off the false claims Sean Murray has made regarding the multiplayer situation.

No Man's Sky is an apt title for such a deserted game.

I feel you. Join me in making this worthless planet that made NMS happen disappear!
