The changing and harsh nature of the video game world makes companies sometimes just one decision to destroy themselves and lose everything. Thus, overnight, the company collapses due to some erroneous choices and decisions. The history of this industry is full of many of those companies and studios that have deteriorated.

Atari overstated the estimate of sales force

Atari was one of the giants of video game companies but one decision is not the equation. The problem began with the development of the game ET, which lasted only three months and so did not undergo the necessary tests because of the commitment to a specific timetable and the worst decision was to make millions and millions of copies to meet the expected huge sales. After the game was released, it was shocking, although it did have good sales, but not enough, the warehouses were overflowing.

Try Free Radical Team Develop a deadly game for the Halo correction series

Both Free Radical and Ubisoft have been alerted to the need to focus on the development of Haze - a first-person shooter - which was reported to be devastating to Halo from the first day of production. The problem was with Ubisoft, which sought to amplify the matter and tell the press that the game would make Halo out of the past while not addressing the development hurdles the team faces. In the end, the game was released and was not good and contributed to the acceleration of the closure of the company.

The terrible marketing of Gizmondo

Tiger Telematics decided to develop a mobile device that competed with both Nintendo and Sony and in 2005 it was released in the UK and was a real disaster. It did not contain most of the features promised by the company. On the other hand, the company spent huge amounts of advertising such as paying for two geeks to appear at the launch ceremony and others and all marketing efforts failed.

Bad gaming options at Boss Key Production

Boss Key Production was supposed to become the strongest in the gaming world. The team began working quickly on their first Lawbreakers project. A game that includes two teams playing against Law and Breakers, including stunningly designed gameplay and maps. Unfortunately, the game caused a big financial loss and did not achieve much sales as critics described it as a tradition of Blizzard. The company then tried again to develop the Radical Heights game and also failed a huge failure between games of its type, which made the company stop its activity.

Telltale's commitment is in one way

Telltale's story is a little tragic. Everyone felt the warnings only those within the company. Instead of focusing on one project, they expanded their focus on several projects, resulting in a markedly lower quality that appeared in bad animation and others. But a source inside the company explained why the company's collapse is a fear of creativity and risk. The team adhered to the approach and style of the first part of The Walking Dead instead of putting new ideas out of the ordinary.

3D Realms bet on Duke Nukem Forever

Nearly fourteen years of development the company wanted them to make the game the most modern and sophisticated among all the games, but their quest for the ideal push them to the bottom. With their alleged talk on several occasions that the development of the game is nearing completion, but became a laughing stock by 2001, with more offers to be made without a date. After a lack of funding, the company stopped working and failed to deliver the game to Take-Two, which it judged and cost Gearbox to develop and launch in the market.

Loss of a company studios 38

Reckoning_DungeonTrollBattle.jpg

The story began with the company receiving a $ 75,000,000 loan to develop a game and Kingdoms of Amalur. The problem was that the money was spent in a random way without any prior study and as a result of wrong decisions from the company and although the game has been issued, but no matter how much of the sales were unable to secure the loan amount. So they had to launch game after game without any obstacles but that was not possible even in the best game companies.

Silicon Knights attempted to sue and then overturn it

Too Human could have been a great game if the poor company had not tried to fill it with many bad ideas and features. After failing to achieve the expected sales, they looked for an excuse for the failure of the game and claimed the company Epic Games on the pretext that they did not provide sufficient support, which affected the development of the game negatively. Investigations then began to end with the coup of the lawsuit against Silicon Knights and the loss of the case in favor of Epic Games.

Finally, we have seen how an imprudent decision can turn a huge company upside down with no consideration for its history or glory. Decision-making is one of the most difficult jobs because of its devastating or enhanced impact on the company, especially in the merciless video game industry.
