For puzzlers, it has been a good place in the gaming world in recent years. Where you used to have to look for yourself in titles such as Myst, which, by the way, is not wrong, since the Portal games you have a much more extensive choice of different puzzle games. The Bradwell Conspiracy is such a title that clearly draws inspiration from the aforementioned games, but still does something different.

As soon as you start working with The Bradwell Conspiracy, the artstyle will immediately remind you of something. Not that there is something wrong with that, in fact, it is actually nice to feel right at home. The game starts with a mystery in which only you (the nameless protagonist without a voice) and yet another person get stuck in a gigantic complex. The complex is reminiscent of the Aperture Science building, but now we will stop making that comparison.

3D printer as a gun

Because The Bradwell Conspiracy has its own cool way of puzzling. Basically you do everything in the game with a 3D printer in the form of a gun, which allows you to absorb material, but also add new things in the world. These may be small items such as a trash can, but we also encountered entire surfboards during the session.

Although not every object immediately seems useful to use, you will find out that it is useful to collect as many objects as possible during the various obstacles that you have to overcome. You collect that by recognizing blueprints that you then use for your 3D printer. Although this principle sounds pretty simple, this is easier said than done with a puzzle game.

Fortunately, there is still the other person who can assist you. You send her with your smartphone photos of the objects you want to know more about. For example, do you see a door that does not want to open and do you think it can mean more to you with regard to that door? Then you take a photo and you will be told whether your partner in crime can help you or not.

The latter ensures that despite the fact that you do not have a voice, you still interact with the other character. A nice solution for an extra piece of immersion in a first-person puzzle game. At the same time, the photos you send as an extra puzzle element in the game. Because sometimes you seem to forget that this option is there and you are looking for a long time for what exactly is expected of you.

In that respect, the setting also contributes to your search. In an office with a laboratory everything looks natural and that feeling is more than well communicated in The Bradwell Conspiracy. At the same time, that ensures that you are constantly looking for points of recognition that make you play a kind of metagame, or a game.

In the end, The Bradwell Conspiracy does exactly what it promises; a fun puzzle experience with a nice setting and good humor. Although it is not entirely clear at the moment when the game comes out and there are not even screenshots released, we can at least expect the average puzzler to put this game on his wish list.
